Butters… lots of exposure this weekend. Some he handled with ease, others set him off. 🤣

Buc-ee’s, no offense but stopping at your establishment is anything but pleasant. (Unless you do it in the wee morning hours.) I’ll be happy to give my business to someone else.

Love this!

If you're micromanaging your horse every stride, you’re not riding, you’re trying to control everything. The goal isn’t to hold it together. The goal is to build a horse that can hold itself together, and be there to hold steady for you when you need it.

And trust us, in the shooting pen you're GOING to need it!

💥 Friday Feature 💥

This week’s Friday Feature shines the spotlight on another mounted shooter & his incredible partner!

✨Stephen Harris & Summer Storm Sign

Stephen’s mounted shooting journey began in January 2021, but unlike many competitors, he didn’t grow up in the saddle. In fact, horses only entered his life after marrying his wife, Kimberly, who eventually convinced him that horses — and mounted shooting — were pretty cool after all. 😋

The first time Stephen watched mounted shooting, he famously said, “I will learn how to ride a horse to do that!” 🤘🏽

After several unsuccessful attempts to gun break horses at home, Kimberly began searching for a seasoned mounted shooting horse. In October 2020, the Harris family took a leap of faith and purchased Summer Storm Sign from Trevor Lewallen — sight unseen. Looking back, Stephen laughs that it may not have been the smartest idea considering he was still learning to ride, and Summer was all business. 😄

Stephen quickly realized exactly what kind of horse he had underneath him. After his very first ride on Summer, his response was simple: “I think I just peed a little!” 🤣

His debut competition came at the Florida Peacemakers New Year’s Shoot in Green Cove Springs, where he placed somewhere around 200th out of more than 200 shooters. But placement didn’t matter — Stephen was hooked from the very beginning. 👏🏼

Just one month later, at the Florida State Championship, Stephen and Summer found their rhythm. The pair captured their first class win and finished 20th overall, launching what would become an impressive mounted shooting career. 💯

Today, Stephen and Summer are just one qualified win away from reaching the Men’s Level 6 division — a remarkable accomplishment for both horse and rider. At 21 years old, Summer continues to prove she’s far from slowing down. 🥳

When asked how he learned to ride so quickly, Stephen’s answer perfectly sums up his journey:
“It was ride or die, so I chose to ride.” 🤭

Though he may shy away from the spotlight, Stephen has become one of the sport’s biggest encouragers — always the first to support, congratulate, and help new shooters entering the arena. He also remains deeply grateful to the Lewallen family for trusting him with Summer, a horse that has become not only an incredible teammate, but one that holds a permanent place in his heart. ❤️
