We want to welcome Coach Marcus Wright as the new Assistant Coach for the Outlaws. He holds degrees from Ouachita Baptist University and the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Coach Wright brings winning experience being part of staff that has gone 4-1 against Dierks during his 5 years of coaching football including last year’s 49-12 Gurdon win over the Outlaws. Coach Wright has coached football, baseball, basketball and track at various levels.
Former Coaches who worked alongside him have hailed him as a vocal leader on and off the field with attitude and effort for the kids.
Coach Wright also brings relentless energy and a strong work ethic to this role. He holds a masters degree in teaching & education, a bachelor’s of business management and a CDL. Coach Wright also played basketball collegiately and has volunteer coached multiple teams over the years. He has taught Algebra, Geometry and Physical Education.
The new Coach and his wife Christina (who is a RN), have 3 kids that will join the Outlaw family as well. MJ, Gabe and Lula. His sons enjoy playing basketball, football and travel baseball. They also have 4 older kids, Alicia, Shayla, DJ and Bryson. The family is highly involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and other charitable organizations such as Youth Sports.
The former Gurdon Go-Devil Coach thanked Superintendent Hill, AD Paul Ernest, Head Football Coach Lantz Castleman and Baseball Coach Taylor Collum for putting their trust in him.
