Cassowary Conservancy We aim to increase the knowledgebase on the amazing Cassowary!

We are setting up a unique experience for children and adults to learn about invasive species and how they affect Florida’s ecology. Our mission is to educate the public about Florida’s invasive species and their impact on our ecology. We will educate about the ecological problems being caused by current invasive species and also inform about what ecological consequences could occur from new addit

ional species being introduced into Florida’s native environment. Our education program will include animals: mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, but will also include education on invasive plant species, proper management of invasive species, and education on exotic animal ownership licenses and why pet licenses in Florida are a necessary component of keeping Florida native.

It is with the ultime sadness and a heavy heart I write this morning as Liberace passed away late last night.

We thank the veterinary team once more for their great effort in helping him and look forward to his test results, that they may help future captive cassowaries.

Today we say goodbye to Liberace, he will forever be in our hearts and we hope one day to meet again over the rainbow bridge. ❤️🌈❤️

Liberace UPDATE

We can not thank Dr. Pardini and her team at Wildside Vet enough!!! What an AMAZING GROUP OF PEOPLE!

Liberace is still waking up after his sedation and surgery but she was able to correct the prolapse for the time being. We sent some tissue for testing and we await answers!.

Please keep Liberace in your thoughts and prayers through the weekend as he's not out of the woods just yet!
