🐾 Description: "Mackerel markings grayish brown and white short haired tabby with a black scuff mark on back leg and black mark on his nose. He has white front paws and white back leg boots. He is a beautiful young cat weighing about 9 pounds and only 2 years old. He is an indoor cat who got out and this is his first experience in the wild."

After much consideration with how busy we are recently, I have decided to make Saturdays walk ins first come first serve instead of having assigned appointments. If you currently have appointments scheduled we will honor those appointments.

Saturdays are some of our busiest days and appointment times tend to run long and it pushes other appointments behind, as well as we have walk in emergencies that sometimes need to be seen before appointments. I want to thank the clients that have been so patient to wait to be seen and understanding when emergencies come in. I will stay and work as long as I need to to get everyone seen. Our Saturday hours will remain the same. I just feel this will help cut down on any frustration we have from clients, as well as me as I am a single person trying to work through everyone and do the best medicine for our patients.

Thank you again to all of our clients who are so loving, understanding, and patient with me and my staff. It is summer time and we are extremely busy and wait times are a bit longer than normal. With that being said with Dr. Taylor being on maternity leave, and we do have a relief vet helping 3 days out of the week ( she is doing wonderful), but that is leaving me working 7 days a week and taking on call every day for the next 2 months. I am doing my best to respond to any emergencies , but I am also asking for your understanding that some emergencies I am having to send to referral clinics. For me to be the best vet I can be, I unfortunately have to get some rest at times so working all day long hours and being called all night is tough. I have to take care of my body and mind so I can be there for you guys every day. If I am unable to get back with you and you have a true emergency please refer to VCA River in Chattanooga, Gadsden veterinary Associates Emergency Care, or Huntsville Veterinary Specialists and Emergency.

Again, thank you for the understanding and patience with me and my staff. I am so appreciative for the love my clients show me and my clinic everyday. I am forever grateful for yall trusting my hospital with your babies care.

We would like to introduce Dr. Kayla Hiland. She will be helping us as a relief vet the next couple of months during Dr. Taylor’s maternity leave.

She was born and raised on Sand Mountain. She graduated from Auburn University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent the last two years living in Denver, Colorado. Recently, she moved back home to Fort Payne with her husband and 11-month-old daughter, Eleanor. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading. She is very excited to be back home and start providing care for the pets of Fort Payne!

We are so excited to welcome her to the clinic! Also, please join us in congratulating Dr. Taylor and her family on the arrival of baby number two, born yesterday!
