Stephan McClain’s philosophy behind training and caring for a horse is simple: Require respect and give it to the animal in return. Stephan understands the importance of remaining quiet and in control, along with the mind connection it takes to get a horse to respond - ultimately, creating the unison between horse and rider. Much like the techniques used by world class champion trainer, Clinton An

derson, Stephan believes in connecting people with the horse, and in doing so, creates a partnership between the horse and rider. He teaches maintaining a consistent and firm hand to gain the respect of the horse, all the while building and nurturing that incredible partnership. The rider must believe in the horse and themselves to create a lasting relationship and a mutual desire to perform. A little about Stephan's Experience:

Stephan was given an opportunity at 17 to work alongside a race horse trainer where he learned to start and train race horses. Within a year, he began working for World Champion, Hall of Fame Saddle Bronc Rider, Mr. Davis, at that time, was the general manager of the National Finals Rodeo. Stephan worked on the horse crew where he was in charge of the exercising, care and conditioning of a number of horses used in the opening ceremonies at the rodeo. He then went on to work for Mr. Robert Smith, world champion in Western Pleasure show horses, alongside Mr. Smith, Stephen began to master the art of reading the body language of the horse. The confidence and riding skills Stephan brings to the table led him into the bull riding circuit as well, where he has landed a number of wins, bringing home buckles and rave reviews. Most recently placing 2nd in the 2021 Annual Arizona Black Rodeo.
