Urgent Cats of Broward We are a group of local animal advocates involved with Broward County Animal Care & Adoption Center, promoting cats/kittens for Adoption, Foster & Rescue.

We are always in need of help with sharing and cross posting the cat/kitten photos, volunteers to assist/take pictures of the pets at the Ft. Lauderdale Shelter,volunteer groomers, donations for towels, blankets, treats, crates, cat litter, kitten dry/ wet food, newspapers (flyers removed if possible) for foster care program. We ALWAYS need fosters/adopters/501c3 Rescues to enroll as Rescue Partners/transporters/volunteers.

Tommy is a super sweet and affectionate senior guy who enjoys head and butt scratches, greeting you at the doorand telling you all about his daily adventures. While this senior guy loves the attention he receives from staff he would love it even

12 Years Old~6 pounds
Chester arrived at the shelter on 02/04/24 as a stray.

Chester is a senior fellow who was originally brought to us due to being underweight, not eating well, and limping. Chester had a bad tooth that our vets removed but no other obvious injuries were found. Chester has been recovering from his neuter and tooth extraction but has been depressed and continues to not eat as much as we would like him to.
We are looking to place Chester with a transfer partner for further monitoring and diagnostics.

Sabor arrived at our facility on 12/13/23 as an owner surrender.

Sabor is a shy, younger lady who enjoys running around her free roam room with her siblings and getting tasty snacks!
Sabor likes slow introductions and is hesitant of new people so will need someone who understands she needs to gain trust before receiving pets.

🔔🐱Attention Trappers!🐱🔔

Broward County Animal Care will not be accepting ANY healthy, uninjured community cats beginning Friday, December 22nd through Monday, December 25th.

Animal Care will be closed to the public Monday, 12/25 in observance of Christmas. To report a sick or injured animal on this day, please call 954-359-1313, option 2.

We will resume accepting community cats for spay/neuter services through the RTF program Tuesday, December 26th.

🎓🎓 STUDENTS - Did You Know?

👩‍🎓 Students can earn as many as 80 hours of community service in as little as one month by becoming an adoption ambassador!👩‍🎓

Adoption Ambassador:

The Foster Ambassador actively promotes the foster pet for adoption via social media platforms, flyers, text, email etc. If the student is successful in adopting the shelter pet within the month of fostering, we will award 80 hours of community service. If after the 30 days the student returns the foster pet to us, we will then just award the standard 40 hours of community service. Showing proof of promotion is not required only encouraged to be the ‘adoption ambassador’ of the shelter. Being the adoption ambassador also adheres with our social media policy as to treat all interactions with respect and kindness. 👩‍🎓
