A problem I run into from time to time is getting pictures of completed bear mounts before they leave the shop. Since the beginning, I’ve always preferred outdoor photos. That being said… all my bear mounts are complete in the winter, and I have to say, a bear mount in a snowy landscape looks very unnatural and out of place. While I can still get outdoor photos if the mount is still here by the time the snow melts, a lot of them are picked up and gone earlier.
So for this 500lb+ bear, I decided to play with the idea of an indoor type photo. His only imperfection was a golf ball chunk of hair missing on his side. I could have fixed it, but I prefer to leave the animal just as it was when the hunter crossed paths with it that day….unless the customer requests otherwise.
Next year I’ll have a legit setup to do the indoor photos for bears when needed.
