The Dog Pawlour Animal Behavior Center We offer positive reinforcement based dog training sessions in fun group, and private sessions. We have a variety of training classes to choose from.

The Dog Pawlour Animal Behavior Center operates within The Dog Pawlour of Fort Collins, Colorado. If group classes aren't for you, we also offer private sessions with our Certified Dog Trainer, Alisha Smith. Not only do we offer basic training classes, you will also get lessons in canine behavior. Alisha has 10 years of professional experience in the pet industry and enjoys educating pet parents a

bout their pets behavior. From friendly greetings and diet and exercise, to breed specific education and human/dog communication, you will leave your sessions with not only a better behaved pet, but full of knowledge about the canine world. Below are the classes we offer and their descriptions:

Puppy: For pets 10 weeks-16 weeks
You will learn sit, lay down, stay, leash walking, leave it, and recall. With a focus on socialization, potty and kennel training, nutrition, communication, handling, and we discuss integrating your new pet into your home to set your household up for future success. Beginner: For pets 5 months and older
You will learn sit, lay down, stay, leash walking, leave it, and recall. With a focus on house training for older pets, promoting positive interactions with other canine friends, proper nutrition, dental and full body hygiene, and diet and proper exercise. We also go over behavior pieces such as how to correct separation anxiety, jumping, excessive barking, fears and anxieties (thunder, fireworks, strangers), mild cases of aggression, and antisocial behaviors. Intermediate: For pets who have successfully completed the Puppy or Beginner classes. In the intermediate class, we focus on consistency. We practice everything learned in the puppy and beginner classes with more focus and in a more distracted environment. Teaching your dog to preform commands despite distractions is the key to consistency in your dogs behavior. Clicker Training: For dogs of any age
We teach basic commands using the clicker

Basic Agility: For dogs who successfully complete the Intermediate class

Canine Good Citizen Certification: For dogs who successfully complete the Intermediate Class
This is a certification from the American Kennel Club. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test will receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. We also offer private, 1 hour sessions at our facility.
