To all of my fellow equestrians: for any of you who are interest in properly fitting a bridle and bit, finding the right ones for your horse's anatomy and understanding how their pressure works, and also about the anatomy of a horse's head with the bridle on and bit in the mouth, including x-rays for demonstration, this is a very interesting video to watch. (Can you tell that I have a young horse that I am trying my best to do right by?)

What no one tells you about owning a horse boarding facility….

•It’s loving someone else’s animal so much it hurts at times.
•It’s noticing and addressing the slightest change in a horse’s behavior, eating, or drinking habits.
•It’s staying up all night to monitor someone else’s horse when they aren’t feeling well.
•It’s an overwhelming feeling of guilt when a horse gets hurt or sick; even though there was nothing you could have done differently to prevent it.
•It’s facility overhead. There’s ALWAYS something that needs fixed or updated.
•It’s having a camera roll full of cute, silly pictures of horses you don’t own.
•It’s watching the electric bill quadruple in the winter due to aisle lights and heated waterers and tack rooms.
•It’s an overwhelming feeling of anguish for weeks on end when you have to tell boarders that the cost of board must go up.
•It’s working on every holiday, birthday, anniversary, and sick day.
•It’s a constant feeling of guilt for not spending enough time with your own animals.
•It’s wondering if you pay your wonderful help enough, even though they make more per hour than you do most days.
•It’s getting to know horses even better than their owners do, in some ways.
•It’s rearranging family, work, and personal commitments to take care of horses.
•It’s dreaming about that bathroom remodel you’ve always wanted, but maintaining the barn and arenas instead.

Boarding horses is so much more than feeding, watering, and cleaning stalls. It isn’t for the faint of heart and it surely isn’t for anyone looking to get rich. It takes a village of people with a special place in their hearts for equines. To anyone that can relate, just know that you ARE APPRECIATED! 🐴❤️

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, strong employee with a good knowledge of and skill with horses to clean 7 stalls/runs and feed 7 horses 2 days a week. Shifts are Tuesday and Thursday afternoon/evenings and Saturday or Sunday afternoon/evenings. The pay is fair/market rate.
Not a difficult job but it is manual labor, so someone has to be physically fit and be comfortable working around and with horses. Should be able to put on and take off blankets and sport boots, know how to feed hay based on weight, be comfortable leading horses to and from pasture alone or in pairs, and be able to recognize signs of colic and know when a wound needs the owner to be called. Also has to have a reliable all-wheel drive vehicle for those snowy winter days.
If interested in discussing this further, please DM me.

If you have any interest in learning to do liberty work with your horse, please check out Braveheart Beasts’ web site and let me know if you would like to participate in a clinic with Kaleigh this summer. I am trying to find out if there is enough interest to host a clinic with her.
It would be a 3 day clinic with only 6 people so lots of time and attention. Cost around $650-750 per horse/owner team for all three days.

Collins area who are interested and would be available for 3 full days (Friday-Sunday) sometime this summer when the weather is better. Cost would probably be $650 for all three days.
Check out Kaleigh's FB page and web site and DM me on the PKF page or my personal page (Catherine Trippeer Jameson).
Thanks for looking and considering.

Tis the season for boarders to be with their loved ones far away but before they left I got a cute picture of Indra and Sara on their beloved boys Cheese Fry and Erragon. And of course Levi was joining in the fun! Merry Christmas girls!
