The Four Winds

The Four Winds Located just north of CSU, we offer horseback riding lessons, training, boarding and host horseshows.

Four Winds has been family owned and operated for almost 50 years. Our equestrian center offers horse boarding, riding lessons, horse training and sales, and equine events. As a family business, collaboration is important in all that we do. The Four Winds training program has a traditional philosophy, focusing on flatwork while still staying true to the American Forward Riding! We accept anywhere

from walk-trotters (5 and up) to Grand Prix riders and offer school and lease horses. Our barn competes locally on the CHJA Circuit, as well as at several USHJA shows a year, with several opportunities to show on sight. We host four CHJA Shows per year, and a schooling show once a month during the summer season.

Sally Robertson and FW Turtle Eclipse took their first show together by storm, learning the show ring, and ended the week by laying down some amazing rounds as a team
Linnea Throckmorton and sale horse FW Tempe got some great miles in the meters with some top ribbons along the way!
Morgan Shaw and Dantelicious made the trip for their first A-level show and had some amazing growth together as a team

Over in hunter land Linnea Throckmorton and one of our off the track thoroughbreds, FW Marmalade Jam, picked up some impressive ribbons against a large class in the USHJA 2’6 Hunters
Graysen Courter and Her Royal Highness had their amateur & hunter debut, and layed down some beautiful rounds! We couldn’t be prouder of this team!

❗️UPDATED: Modifieds will go first thing on Saturday morning, which means that the .70m Outreach Jumpers and the rest of the West Arena classes will start later, around 9am. Enjoy some extra time to school! ❗️

Schedule update for CTM1 this weekend: all hunter classes are moved to Sunday. The hunter arena will be open all day on Saturday for schooling. Look at HorseSpot for an accurate schedule with times

We are less than 2 weeks from 'Cross the Meadow 1 on June 13th and 14th! To say we're excited for summer shows at Four Winds is an understatement 🤩

The barn is freshly painted, the jumps are up next, and Charles has been working hard to install new fencing for the west arena.

FW Little Wolf is a 2022 gelding who came to us in January of this year. He has already proven himself to be kind, willing, and reliable. The perfect match was found with Gwen Rogers and they’ve already had such a wonderful journey together!

The next thoroughbred in the spotlight is FW Turtle Eclipse, a 2018 gelding who came to us in May 2025. Turtle competed in the 2’6”-2’9” Hunters this year and found his partner, Sally. Sally is coming back into riding and has big dreams with Turtle.
