Puppies that don’t get enough exercise can be Trouble!(note the capital T!) Doberman need not only lots of mental entertainment but it’s very important to challenge them physically as well. Biking with your dupper is a wonderful way for both human and pup to enjoy fresh air and exercise! I got these wonderful pictures from Ava’s (Odin/Hela litter)mom yesterday…..a tired pup is a happy pup!

A Rottweiler, a German Sheppard, and a Doberman are having a drink in a bar.

The Rottweiler says, "God came to me in a dream and told me I was the most beautiful and strongest dog breed to ever walk the Earth."

The German Sheppard shrugs his shoulders and says, "God came to me in a dream and told me that my breed was his best work ever "

The Doberman turned, looked at them both and said, "I don't remember staying any of that."

Posey is doing GREAT! She FINALLY went potty Sunday evening!! We have never been so excited to see p**p! LOL
She has gained a good bit of her lost weight back (4 meals a day help!) and is a dream to be around. She will be looking for her forever home as soon as she is back to her normal weight.

Item #100245 that you have to watch puppies for.

Yes , puppies get into EVERYTHING! They are just like naughty human toddlers that want to explore, taste and touch EVERYTHING! We watch them as best as we can but, life happens. This post is to help you look for things that are “off”. This was a case of the perfect storm. Neal and I both noticed that one of the puppy’s seems “off”. We couldnt put our finger on it, just off. Not finishing all her food. (It’s been HOT so who wants to eat!) she slept a little more.(that growth spurt wears you out!) She didn’t look right. (Teenage leggy stage, need we say more?) She started loosing weight. No vomiting, no diarrhea. No temp. So we watched. Then it hit me, no diarrhea but worse, no p**p at all. Off to the vet we go. Thank goodness for vets that LISTEN to us doggy moms!!! Back for an X-ray and unfortunately, I was right. She had a blockage. Off for emergency surgery. Dr. Butler Caldwell was in surgery on this girl from 3:30-5:20 removing alllll the trash that she had eaten. (Huge Thanks to Caldwell Veterinary Hospital and their amazing staff!!) It was in her stomach and throughout her intestines. 5 incisions and countless flushes later Posey is home resting. All of this happened within a 3 day period. One of the wonderful folks at the clinic said “ She was knocking on Heavens door” and I think that says it all, she wouldn’t have been alive much longer. Pay attention to your dogs. Listen to that 6th sense. Trust your vet to trust you. And please…keep Posey in your thoughts, she’s not out of the woods yet.

We work really hard to raise healthy, happy puppies here at Cloud 9. We want them to leave here and blend seamlessly with their new families. Our first puppy from the Hela/Odin litter has gone to her new home in Massachusetts. This will be her third puppy with these bloodlines, the other two both lived past 10! (Both of the other dogs were Odin’s full siblings from different litters) Nothing phased this sassy girl, not the noise of a busy airport, not flying in cabin nor meeting her new fursibling! Welcome to the family Kathleen, Ava sure hit the lottery with loving humans when you picked her!

Today is our big test day! Mom and Dad made us skip breakfast (how DARE they?) ride in a crate (again, how DARE they?) and go into a hospital. At least the nurses and doctors know great puppies when they see them and we have gotten ALLLLLL the lovin! Last step before we get to go to our new homes!!

So one of the litter got to take a ride today! This is yellow collar male that tentatively will be staying here as part of our program. He was such a good boy!

We are pretty good at keeping secrets here, but only the good kind! For those on our waiting list for Doberman….surprise! Our sweet girl Hela and our main man Odin blessed us with 6 beautiful puppies, 2 males and 4 females. We only have one red puppy and her home will have to be extra special as she lost the sight in one eye during a freak accident at the vets office at one week old. (Don’t worry, she has no clue there is a problem and keeps her siblings on their toes! 😉)
