This week our ACOs teamed up with the amazing Barnegat Fire Department to help rescue two tiny baby raccoons after their mom sadly passed away. 🦝💔

The babies were left all alone high up in a tree, and due to their young age we knew they needed immediate specialized care from a licensed wildlife rehabber. With the help of the Barnegat Fire Department and some incredible teamwork, we were able to safely bring both babies down and transport them to a rehab facility where they can get the care, warmth, and second chance they deserve. ❤️

We are so grateful for our local first responders and everyone who came together to help these little ones. It truly takes a community to make a difference. 🐾

Associated Humane Societies is teaming up with Best Friends Animal Society and Walmart to help save lives and find amazing pets the loving homes they deserve! ❤️

🥨 Meet Pretzel — the sweetest little twist you’ll ever meet! 🐾

This adorable 4-year-old pup is looking for a temporary medical foster to help us crack the code on his medications while we work through some urinary issues. Unfortunately, this is something that’s incredibly hard to properly monitor in a busy shelter environment, so Pretzel is hoping someone can open their home and help us help him. ❤️

And trust us… fostering Pretzel is basically like fostering a living teddy bear.

✨ Walks beautifully on leash
✨ Easygoing and low-key
✨ Professional cuddle expert

Pretzel is currently staying at our Vineland location, but we can help coordinate transfers to areas local to our other locations while we continue adjusting his medications and finding the right dosing for him.

All he needs is a comfy place to crash, some loving humans to keep an eye on him, and a chance to heal outside the shelter. 🐶💛

This handsome 5-year-old is currently thriving in foster care and honestly? He’s making himself very comfortable being everyone’s favorite roommate.

Here’s what his foster family has to say about him:
🛋️ House trained
💤 Sleeps quietly in his crate all night
💕 Extremely affectionate
🐾 Non-destructive in the home
🥹 Professional snuggler & nap enthusiast

Rocket does get a little vocal when he knows dinner is coming (relatable king 🍽️), but his fosters have been working with him and are already seeing improvements!

Other than that? They say he’s an easygoing lovebug who just wants affection, cozy naps, and a family to call his own. He also has potential to live with other dogs! 👀

Basically, if you’ve been searching for a sweet, lovable couch buddy with just the right amount of personality… Rocket may be your guy.
