We had a very sad day today at Triple T Alpaca.
TTA’s Voodoo Princess had a stillborn Cria at around 295 days. This was highly anticipated baby from “Force of Nature” out of Triple Diamond.
Cria appears to have been deceased for several days prior to being birthday. I checked for a twin and I can’t hear a heart beat or feel anything upon internal exam.
Mom is doing well-and I can tell she hadn’t been feeling well as she will NOT stop eating now. Yesterday she was very slow to eat. We kept her with the herd and allowed her to be with the baby all afternoon. A towel is still in its place with the scent.

In our 9yrs as breeders we’ve been VERY fortunate and this is the first time we’ve lost a baby.

On the road home from Illinois!!
We had a fun weekend catching up with friend and seeing all the animals!!

Walking fleece was a combined gender show-so we competed against more animals in the walking fleece than halter.

Here are the result from the weekend:
TTA’s How many Licks (aka Tootsie)
5th in walking fleece
3rd in one halter
2nd in the other halter
Tootsie is our first Mikey cris to show
I LOVE her fleece which is super similar to her dad(who won 9 banner). White is super competitive and boy were there some beautiful animals this weekend.

TTA’s Benevolent Force (aka Benny)
5th in walking fleece
1st in both hater rings
Benny showed under “Bred and Owned” because he doesnt really fit in one color(black, brown, mix, grayish) but he is showing huge potential and the judges all 3 liked him a lot

TTA’s Phantoms Radiant Mist(aka Misty)
6th in walking fleece
No placement halter rings. She was in LARGE classes-only the top 6 are placed. We brought Misty for feed back knowing she wouldn’t win big. She will be her mommas replacement in our breeding program and she should pass on some great traits(especially LENGTH)
