Now that Howl-O-Ween is over, we are working with the elves for Pet Pictures with Santa! 🎅

Santa will be here on the following days:

Let's talk about hydrolyzed protein diets! 🐶🐱

This is a dietary elimination diet with dermatological and/or gastrointestinal signs. Examples are food/environmental allergies or stomach issues/IBD.

Hydrolyzed protein HP diet has hydrolyzed soy protein. This is composed of low molecular weight peptides, so your pet's body will not recognize the protein. With the body not recognizing the protein, no reaction will occur. It is highly digestible and enriched with EPA+DHA fatty acids to help maintain healthy skin & digestion.

Select protein PD (duck) & PR (rabbit) have one protein source and one single startch source. For feline formulas, the starch is pea. A feline's body will recognize rabbit or duck in the diet, as they are a novel protein. Most felines have not been exposed to those before, so their immune system will less likely react to it.

Ultamino is a diet designed for pets who have food sensitivities. It is composed of oligopeptides and pure amino acids from a single source to reduce the risk of developing signs of food sensitivities.

Please keep in mind, these are prescription diets, so a veterinarian will prescribe it. If your pet shows signs, we recommend to take your pet to the vet for an exam.

Weruva has Wx phosphorus focused formulas for cats! 🐱 While we do have diets that require a prescription, such as Royal Canin, this brand does not require a prescription.

It includes selected animal-based proteins with low phosphorus levels. All natural; none grain, carrageenan or powdered cellulose. They are highly palatable and stimulates appetite for those who are less eager to eat. With this formula having a higher moisture content, it encourages cats to drink more water.

This is a beneficial diet for cats with chronic kidney disease.

• Low phosphorus diets reduces the strain on the kidneys and helps preserve their function.

• Phosphorus is essential for bone health. Low phosphorus helps prevent soft tissue materialization and maintains healthy bones

• Reduced inflammation.

We recommend consulting a veterinarian to determine the appropriate phosphorus levels for each individual cat.
