In the spirit of full transparency, here is what we currently have in our bank account. To pay all our base monthly bills, this somehow needs to turn into $5,000 before next month. Right now I don’t start my new job for about another month so we have to stick it out through September somehow. Each month we need at least $5k to pay all our bills and with us getting rejection after rejection for grants we’ve applied to, it’s getting harder and harder to meet that minimum.

I start a new job next month in addition to continuing to run the rescue. Things are rough right now and I’m hoping that having this new job will make things easier on us. As of right now, we’re in need of $4,000 to pay basic rent and other operating expenses and an additional $2,000 to cover the medical expenses of all our newbies who are getting their medical work done in the next two months.
We’ll have student employees through the PSU work study program soon too and I’m desperately hoping that helps lighten our work load a little. Right now, I’m not sure what else to do.

I don’t have anything left. We have $135 in our bank account but somehow need to make $5,000 before September 1st to avoid late fees on rent…again. I found this little black kitten, who we named Krabby Patty, under a storage shed behind our home physical location yesterday and we had these three other kittens taken in yesterday as well. We are overflowing and our intakes are closed for now. I’m so tired and I’m not sure what to do to make things work out before next month. I’m running on fumes here and I don’t know how much longer I can keep holding on to hope that things will get better.
As a personal side note, this past two weeks have been awful for my mental health. As the cherry on top, today I just got told by my doctor that two surgeries I’ve been trying to get for a long time have a 2 year waitlist for just a basic consult. I’m devastated and that means I have to live with a chronic health issue for over two more years before it even has a chance to be fixed.
I’m hanging on by a thread but we desperately need help.

With so many new kittens, we’ve been drowning in medical bills. We have two new intakes coming in this week but after that, we will have to put a stop to all new intakes for a while so we have time to get back on our feet. We have our rent, which is $2,500, and a little over 3 grand in medical bills that we need to cover. We barely make anything from the adoption fees on our cats, just enough to barely cover their basic care, if that, so all our income right now is coming from donations.
Financial donations are the most important thing right now but here is a short list of supplies we are either completely out of or running low on as well:
- Litter: We’re completely out of litter
- Kitten Kibble: Running low
- Kitten wet food: Running low
- Adult cat kibble
- Potty pads: running low

I don’t think she really appreciated the cute little bubble hat I made for her…
Waffles had some strong opinions about bath time but it was definitely needed for her! She’s all clean and dry now and she immediately forgave me after some post-bath cuddles 🥰
