Hello everyone, we have great news! Pepper was adopted this weekend. Her forever home includes three girls, ranging from 2 to 14 🥰 🥰 🥰. There are still some gorgeous Labradoodle pups available—Checkers and Honey, especially! They are up to date on their shots and are ready for their forever homes. Happy Mother’s Day!
Doc Coartney shares a picture of Dames Rocket, a non-native wildflower. It is a mustard, and it belongs to the Crucifer family. It has four petals in the form of a cross. The colors can vary from white to purple. Dame refers to a female, and the rocket refers to the elongated-shaped fruit capsule. You can see the flowering structures in the photo. This flower appears everywhere in Floyd right now, especially along the roadsides. It will be in bloom for a few more weeks, probably till the end of May.

It’s springtime on the farm, and the native wildflowers are in bloom. These photos are of the Cardinal flower. This flower is part of the “Pink” family. It gets its name from the notch in the end of the flower, which is pinked, as if it was cut with a set of pinking shears. Below the flower, you can also see the fruit forming. The fruit contains seeds for reproduction. A more commonly known flower that is related to the Cardinal flower is the Carnation. Doc.
