Cooper had a very successful Trial, very proud of my boy! π
It's been a year since we Trialed, due to life.
We missed our Title by 1 Hide (totally my fault 110%, as we hadn't practiced the new Black Containers with Yellow Lids - purchased & on the to-do list then I badly re-injured my back & good knee). π«£π
π The BIG WINS of the day? π
#1: He normally has Vehicle Anxiety when we're separated at Trials and other times, due to an auto accident we were in when he was 9 months old and they had to cut us out. This time? A little barky at the beginning of the Trial, then he actually settled in, was quiet, and for the first time was actually able to eat a Bully Ring, including when we went off for restroom breaks and for the judges awards ceremony. This is a HUGE win! We've been working on it on and off for the last 4 years, in between my surgeries and rehabs, slowly has paid off! Because unfortunately anxiety affects his ability to search and give it 100%. GOOD Boy - PROGRESS!!!! π
#2: He got Ps (Pronounced) in both Interiors (there were 2) & on Vehicles! That's 3 out of 5 Searches!
#3: He got 3rd Place in Interiors!
#4: On his Exterior he worked through trapping/pooling Odor, & finally worked through Dog Smells (if haven't been for the dog smells he got caught up in he, would have actually got it right from the start line immediately π).
#5: Although it slowed down our times, I consistently called Alert when he was on Odor vs. Dog Smells/Slobber/Dropped Food (we were Dog #16 of 20). It's worth it, as times will get faster & faster. π
#6: I worked through a lot of pain & still had fun with my Sweet Boy! β€οΈ And a fun day with my Mom, an extra treat. π
So let's call the Trial a win! π
The CO, Judges, Club, & Volunteers were AMAZING! ππ€©
HUGE thanks to them for allowing my Mom to come with us and see our Searches! She was so excited & sends her Heart-Filled Thanks to all! π You made her day. π
Thanks Jennie Keifer as always for having our backs, even from afar! Hoping to get you here in the future! ππ
