American Bashkir Curly Registry

American Bashkir Curly Registry The American Bashkir Curly Horse Registry (ABCR) was founded in 1971 and is the oldest Registry of Curly Horses. Please visit the ABCR Shop.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the American Bashkir Curly Horse! These horses with the curly coat are a rare and beautiful breed, coming in different conformation types, but generally with a wonderful disposition that usually makes them great beginner horses. They are not just Curly Horses, but the curly coat seems to be also hypoallergenic. People who suffer from horse allergies often react ve

ry little, if at all, to the Curly Horse. The goals of the ABCR are to preserve this rare breed, to promote the Curly Horse as much as possible in shows and in the media, provide education about the special features of the horses, and to protect the genetic pool of the small breed population worldwide. The ABCR has registred over 4,100 Full, 750 Straight and 750 Part Bred Curly Horses since 1971 and is the largest Registry for American Bashkir Curly Horses worldwide. For more than 40 years, volunteers have been providing leadership for the American Bashkir Curly Registry, serving the enthusiasts of this unique horse breed with registration services, information and marketing support. Over the past several years, the ABCR has become officially organized in Canada and Europe. With this expansion, the American Bashkir Curly Registry is now an international registry. We invite you to surf our website and explore the mysteries of the American Bashkir Curly Horse, find information about the Curly Horse breed, it's breeders and the history. Fall in love with this beautiful breed like we did! The ABCR is operated by volunteers and registered as a 501c5 Corporation.

Let's share our first Curly horse and how we met them. My sweet Lakota, ABCR registered name is Warrior Meads Berndt Lakota. He was bred by Barbara Carroll in Texas and sold to a Curly friend in East Texas as a stallion. I found that he was for sale and he became the namesake for our ranch, Golden Curls Ranch. Unfortunately, he had been gelded for oh the gorgeous babies he would produce with fabulous Mead, Warrior lines. He is still giving riding lessons and occasional trail rides. Angie

Dear Members,

I hope this finds you well. There are a few things I would like to share with you.

The Board of Directors would like to cordially invite you to attend our Annual Membership Meeting on September 21st. It is a zoom meeting. The agenda will be posted ahead of time in the next issue of the Curly Cues. We are compiling items now for discussion. If you have anything you would like to discuss, please send me a quick note with the information so that it can be added. If you are unable to Zoom, also let me know, so we know to add a phone number.

The Website software was recently updated. This has created a change in the way you will access the Pedigree database. The process has been changed to a single login from the Member Only section. The new login is: Promotethecurlies@2025. Once you are there, you will scroll down past old minutes and other documents stored there, click on the link; abcregistry.com. You will immediately see the blue fill-in the info page. Once finished, go back to the Member Only login drop down and log out.

Lastly, I would like to invite all of you to get more involved in the organization starting with the Annual Membership meeting. So, email any topics you feel should be discussed and check the website for the agenda and updates. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82418437531?pwd=qsa1Q6xc0k77aFbOn5XK8c89m7zDRQ.1
