We have had a few cases of mycotoxin poisoning recently. Its not a poisoning that folks are generally familiar with, so we thought we'd share the information to raise awareness.-

Ingestion of mouldy food from the bin or a compost pile puts dogs, cats, horses, livestock, and even wildlife at risk for toxicity due to tremorgenic mycotoxins. These toxins may be found in MOULDY bread, pasta, cheese, nuts, or other decaying matter like compost. Clinical signs include vomiting, agitation, incoordination, tremors, seizures, and elevated body temperature. A specific mycotoxin called aflatoxin can even cause liver failure. Be sure to keep mouldy food and compost out of your pets reach!

Community Class Update (class will meet weather permitting) ☔️ This great class is ideal for pups and handlers who want to gain skills in being more successful in the community. We will focus on Service Dogs and Therapy Dog Skills, but this class is great for every dog. We will cover different duties for service dogs and therapy dogs, as well as the skills to succeed in public... out in the community. Leash skills, dealing with different distractions, other dogs and other animals, and so much more. Furthermore, we will learn how to interact with our pups and the public, how to problem-solve, handle distractions, and so much more. Advancing our leash skills, walking politely, meeting and greeting, and so much more... This 10-week class is being offered as a full class or as a drop-in. Also 5/19 Sat 12:00 is our first Community Dog Class, this class is for students who goal is to become a service dog or therapy dog. However this is a wonderful class for any pup… we will be working on practical skills that everyone wants their pup to be more successful with.
