This page is to keep animal lovers everywhere up to date with Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter. CCARS is a non-profit set up to run animal control and the animal shelter for Clay County, Illinois. We run a no kill animal shelter where we strive to find homes for every adoptable animal that comes through our door. Our goal is to work with our community to make a difference for animals who are lost or unwanted.

Update: owner found!
Does anyone recognize this little guy? Microchipped but owner not reached yet. Intact male dapple dachshund. Flora. Pls call 618-665-4545 if you know who the owner is so they can share with the residents who have him to keep him safe.

Does anyone know of someone missing hounds west of Clay City? A citizen sent me this picture of them in their yard today. I don’t recognize them but am hoping someone does.
