Genesee County Animal Control Official GCAC page We house stray dogs/cats, accept owner surrenders and have dogs/cats available for adoptions.

If you are missing a dog/cat, we urge you to come and search through our stray ward. We keep animals on a 7 day stray hold before they are evaluated, spayed/neutered and offered for adoption to the public. All animals receive vaccination booster shots, are dewormed and receive a flea treatment intake.

PRINCE APOLLO! 👑🐾

This adorable smoosh of a man has had a rough go of it. He had been wandering for a bit before safely being captured and brought to us. He’s been so scared here at the shelter but has made improvement as far as making new friends and being brave. But with new confidence has come frustration… frustration with shelter life, frustration with sitting in a kennel 23.5 hours a day, frustration with the unfair cards he’s been dealt in life.

Luckily, he has gotten a much needed break from the shelter this week but coming back to the shelter on Wednesday is going to be very hard on him…

He had a home and a family at one point, and those dogs always struggle harder with life at the shelter. Our goal is to get him adopted as soon as possible!

Prince is an amazing dog. The first words that come to mind when we think of him are ‘chill’ and ‘nonchalant’. He’s reserved and shy at first, but he warms up with time and patience. He’s an independent king who will come to you when he is in the mood for attention and butt scratches. 🥰 He’s a super smartie who already knows ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘speak’ and he walks amazing on leash.

▪️Prince is around 5 years old and 68 pounds. He needs to be the only animal in the home (no other dogs or cats). He would be most comfortable in a calmer home with older children.

Join us September 5th, 6th, and 7th from 10 am to 10 pm for a fundraising event hosted by Chamerican Ink! They will be doing flash tattoos, and a percentage of each tattoo will be donated to our nonprofit Shelter Animal Donations - SAD!

MEET DYL BITS! 🖤🐾

This handsome, sophisticated boy is estimated to be about 3 years old and 53 pounds. He is a calm, independent pup looking for a peaceful household where he can be spoiled and treated like the absolute prince that he is.

He’s a little shy with new people and environments, but once he feels comfortable with you, he is ready to accept all the butt scratches and pets. The more trust he builds with you, the more he allows his personality to shine through… it just takes some time and patience.

Dyl Bits hasn’t shown much interest in other pups here, so we recommend doing a meet and greet with any potential canine siblings. Due to his reserved nature, he would do best with older children.

KOBE NEEDS OUR HELP!!! PLEASE SHARE. 💔🐾

Kobe hasn’t been here very long but he is quickly going downhill. He has a puddle of drool in his kennel every single day from licking the bars and anxiously panting. It’s breaking our hearts to see him this way, and he has quickly become one of our top priority pups. This is not okay. It’s not right for any animal to have to experience this much anguish and stress. Kobe is an angel of a dog and he deserves the world. Please help us share him so we can give him just that… before we run out of time.

This boy is amazing with people. He loves everyone he meets and thoroughly enjoys being on your lap for pets and attention. He is not, however, a fan of other animals. He is searching for a home where he can be your one and only pet, which can sometimes be a bit difficult to find. He would be most comfortable with older children (we suggest 8+).

Kobe is around 1 year old and 53 pounds. He is so happy when he gets out of the kennel, and his smile is infectious. He takes treats gently and is eager to learn. He has both a spunky, playful side and a couch potato side, so he’s truly the best of both worlds!

Please help us share so we can get this boy out of the shelter as soon as possible.
