I am so proud of these young ladies! Both of them battling their anxiety and working towards their equestrian goals. We were so thankful for a break in the heat this evening!

Hey everyone! This is Nox and while he was supposed to enter our lesson program, we've since discovered he has some health issues that are going to require time off to get healthy and he likely won't return to full work. For the next 90 days, Nox will be at GRIT as a boarder, healing and gaining weight, but his lovely owners are happy to have our clients and volunteers give him lots of snacks (they're in the fridge), love, and take him on hand walks so he can munch on the tall grass.

Always an informative time at the PATH Region 8 Conference! There were presentations regarding nutrition and conditioning, body work, board development and engagement, show competition, lesson planning and notes, and everything in between. Continuing Education helps us stay current on information and gain new tools for our clients and horses.

Kat will be at the National Down Syndrome Congress: Educator Conference this weekend, and then the PATH Region 8 Conference next weekend. If she hasn't reached out to you yet, it means your lesson is still at regular time. It's important that our instructors stay up-to-date on all things, client and equine based. Our staff regularly attend clinics, workshops, and conferences as part of their continuing education. Kat will be presenting on Western Dressage at this particular conference in Arkansas.

Para Dressage is the only para equestrian sport in the Paralympics, and it was first introduced in the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics. This session will take a dive into the history and structure of Para Dressage and where to find Para Dressage resources for clients on show teams as they emerge from therapeutic/adaptive riding to competitive para equestrian sport. Learn about Western Dressage as a relatively new discipline and how the WDAA is making it accessible for riders of all ability levels. Learn the accommodations, tests, and opportunities for clients to show in person and online. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a client currently working in the discipline and watch a demonstration of one of the available tests.

We mowed the XC and Obstacle area, pulled down the remaining pig pen since they free roam, and burned the giant burn pile so the south side of property is fresh and clean! Misty and her kiddo had a lesson over there yesterday, enjoying getting out of the ring!
