BRUCE and BILLIE are adorable brothers, ready for their next adventure, with some tuxedo loving adopters! They are full of kitten playfulness and love people. We have had them since they were small, so both are confident, social, and they have always been HAPPY! BRUCE on the left is a talker and has been the most crazy player, but BILLIE holds his own, he just likes to stop for cuddles and kisses a little more. We rescued them with their mom from a Rappahannock colony, and hope they find an adopter soon, because these two will bring so much love and fun to whomever adopts them 😽💙😽

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY to COLBY 🎂 who lives in his second FOREVER home with Emily and her husband 🥰 after returning from his first home, when his adopter Mark passed away unexpectedly from a medical procedure. COLBY had lived there for 4 years, but was so lucky to then be adopted by Emily and her husband, who have given him a wonderful and loving family. We thank them so much for sending these photos and letting us know how great he is doing. COLBY especially loves his big sister, Penny 💙 ☺ and CELEBRATES 1 year with his new mom and dad, and his 6th Birthday!

Three months ago we took in a scrawny and sick kitten, who couldn't see out of infected eyes, and had a wound with maggots. It's never a good sign when you see maggots, but we named him CHANCE because he had such spirit and we wanted him to make it so badly. We syringe fed him and got his eyes and wound treated, and he did gave us a scare one weekend when he stopped peeing, but thanks to the Warren County Veterinary Clinic, he was seen and got a catheter for a few days, after which he recovered. CHANCE is full of energy and joy, and now he's over his "Let me chew on your hand for an hour" stage, he's turned into such a loving, friendly kitty. If you would like to meet him, and already love his adorable photo, please fill out the (no-obligation) adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152

AERO and BEAR are two of our cats who get some time to explore the garden, and they would love to find a home where they can be inside cuddle bugs and outside explorers. Not that they go far, they just love the stimulation and adventure of stalking bugs, sunning themselves, and lurking in the plants! Both are just over a year old, so friendly and loving and would make great family pets. They love other cats and one another, so in our dreams they would find a wonderful home together. AERO used to be paired with TIGER, but now that he's decided he really wants to be an inside/outside kitty, he's got more in common with BEAR. TIGER is pretty happy inside still. If you have a safe outside area, and would like to add two incredibly loving cats to your life, these two boys would be PURfect!
Please fill out the (no-obligation) adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152 if you would like to meet AERO or BEAR.

We have had a few returns this year, so this is a post to remind us of all the wonderful forever homes our cats have found. Mika adopted BEAR, the fluffy black and white cat, in 2019, and TOPAZ the orange and white cat, in 2024. She recently sent us these photos and an update: "We moved back to Germany in late May, and the boys are loving it here. We had them in-cabin with us during the flight, and they did so good! We didn‘t have any issue with them disliking each other after the long trip either, if anything it seems like they get along a little better! Anywho, I just wanted to let you know the two kitties moved all the way back home with me, and I attached some pictures I took in the last months. I was soooo happy they did so well! Topaz even wanted to explore the TSA booth and was more disgruntled I didn‘t let him do that than he was about the whole moving thing in general, hahaha. They hid for less than a day, too. After that they were behaving like they have always lived here and own the place."
We love these updates and knowing that BEAR came from a colony, and TOPAZ a hoarding situation in Castleton, just makes it even better. THANK YOU MIKA, you rock as a cat mom!

Oh no, poor RIPLEY has been returned from her SECOND home, and she is nothing but sweet, beautiful and the perfect kitty! The majority of times a cat is returned to us, it's through no fault of their own, and fortunately RIPLEY seems just fine and not unhappy or upset. Third time has to be a charm for this special girl! She was born March 2022, and was a kitten with us when first adopted from 2022 until Feb. 2026. She was then adopted in April and just returned to us. RIPLEY is doing well with the other cats, and is friendly to all of us. If you are interested in meeting RIPLEY and an adopter who will be there for this girl for good, please fill out our online form below:

AUTUMN was one of our adopted cats that we had returned to us this year, from what we fear hadn't been a good home after all, so we knew that her next home needed to be her forever home, and a safe and loving place. Luck was on our side because when we did the post about AUTUMN returning, one of our previous adopters actually also named Autumn, saw it, and she reached out to adopt her! We were so happy because we know that their previously adopted kitty LILY has a wonderful home, and so would AUTUMN 💙 She is now named CLEO, and she's doing great. She likes to be cuddled right up against her mom, and purrs the entire time. Not only that but this brave girl is fine with the 2 dogs and the 2 cats in the home, and she loves the cat tree and sitting in the window looking outside. She's a fan of the comfy soft bed too. We thank human Autumn and her husband so much for giving Autumn the best home we could have dreamed up for her, and finally the safety and love she deserves 🥰

Today is National Black Cat Appreciation Day!

At just a year old, BESS is pretty new to being a black cat and was delighted to find out there was a whole day dedicated to appreciating her! BESS came to us as a colony kitten, and while she requires a brief introductory period before she shifts into full affectionate mode, once she does, she is all about snuggling! This long-haired beauty enjoys the company of other cats and would love to have one (or more!) with her in her forever home. If you’re looking for an affectionate, beautiful, healthy young floof-ball with whom you could celebrate National Black Cat Appreciation Day every year, BESS may be your girl!

We also have a number of other black cats we’re celebrating today that we would be happy to introduce you to if you’re seeking a new ebony feline family member! Please fill out the (no-obligation) adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/81848821130152 if you would like to meet BESS or any of our other beautiful black (or any other color) cats, and Happy National Black Cat Appreciation Day to everyone!
