Convict continues to improve daily. I feel bad for the individual who took him out for the 1st time after being on stall rest for so long. I bet he was 2 handfuls, lol. We now have a tentative date of 7-10 days, and he should be ready to come back to the rescue. We could really use help towards this past weeks bill, if anyone is able or willing to contribute

Today is Convicts last day in intensive care. He is being moved to "medical boarding", as he is still not sound enough to travel. He may have to stay 1 week...he may have to stay a month. It's up to his feet. It's $700 per week. This horse has completely turned my world upside down 🙃🫣😵‍💫🤯😭😱 As always...any help is appreciated. PayPal is [email protected]

This first video may be distressing to some..but this is how quickly he went down hill. All because of a neighbor's pig getting loose, and coming over and absolutely blowing convicts mind. The pig didn't physically hurt him, and it wasn't his fault that Convict has such a fragile psyche....but he does, and it happened. I have included every single thing in this post, to show people how hard we are trying for this horse. This special little red 9 year old saddlebred who is full of spice and the will to live. He has now beat his colitis, and his kidney values are greatly improved. His laminitis is keeping him down, even with ice and cloud boots. He had radiographs today, and they were much better than the hospital expected, but he is still too painful to come home on a 3 hour trailer ride. He's expected to need to remain there until early next week. He will need orthopedic farrier work, which I can/will maintain at home. I will fight for him. Dr. Valdez at UF said not to give up on him yet...he's not at the point of needing to be euthanized, nor does she think he will. We just desperately need some donations to help keep him comfortable. I wish I was wealthy, but I'm not. I keep our rescues at Leap of Faith Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. fat, happy, and safe on my own dime. But we really need help for this beautiful boy. His previous caretaker/bottle feeder says he has 2 braincells fighting for 3rd place, and I totally agree, but he's a wonderful boy who deserves to live. Please help. We are as of yesterday, sitting at $6500.

Update on our guy at UF. He is feeling a bit better, but still very painful in his feet, and spends a good deal of time laying down. His kidney values have improved, but still not where they should be. He is in 24/7 ice boots, and cloud boots. We really need your help with funds. He is expected to be there until next week, as he is currently unable to load in a trailer, if we needed to bring him home. If I can't come up with funds, I will have no other choice than to euthanize him, and the vet said he isn't ready to give up. As of today, his bill is at $5200, and we have received $100 towards his bill. I rarely beg...but please help if you can. You can call the University of Florida Large Animal Hospital to donate to him directly. Christie Carroll for Convict. 352-392-2229

What a New Years Eve...spent it out in the cold with our resident blind horse, trying to keep her calm during the fireworks. We set up construction tri-pod lights, and ran a generator to try to dull the noise. Trazadone was administered, and horse muffins were in hand. She still ended up plowing over a fence post. Just a minor scratch, thank goodness. At least it was spent in good company! I hate fireworks, in case anyone was wondering 😭

We are still so far from our goal. I know its Christmas time, but even $5 from all of our fellow horse lovers would help with the rescues hay bill. Please consider a Christmas donation to our equines. Most of our guys here are Sanctuary horses.
