Life has been pretty busy, so I have only posted on my own page. & For the first time in a long time, we have no fosters as we prepare to welcome a baby.

But since it is full swing kitten season, a few reminders are needed:

-If you find a kitten - never give cow milk. Only KMR and never when kitten is cold or they will die.

-Kitten needs to stay warm. A heating pad on low or some hot water bottles in fuzzy socks work (about 3hrs on those).

-Always look for momma because is best chance at survival.

-Do not mix litters! "Oh I have a momma cat who can help..." No! You risk killing everyone by spreading disease. Anyone who offers isn't experienced enough to truly help you.

-KittenLady.org is accessible, free, and invaluable as a resource to help you beyond those basics if you must try it on your own.

I dont have the mental bandwidth to update our list right now of who contracts with who but here is ARL's list for 2026.

Through these agreements, professional, humane animal control coverage will continue to support community safety and animal welfare across several Berks County communities.

Fee-For-Service Limited Agreements:
• Amity Township
• Bechtelsville Borough
• Bern Township
• Boyertown Borough
• Caernarvon Township
• Colebrookedale Township

These contracts and agreements help ensure local residents have access to trained animal control and humane law enforcement services, tailored to the level of coverage each municipality has chosen to provide for its community. I often forget to post here 😬
At least I am not overwhelming your feeds!

We have 7 kittens right now and two mommas! There is a plan for 4 more kittens soon.

We could use some donations of wet food and litter. With kittens, I prefer World's Best corn litter in the red bag. Wet food we are using is Kirkland but any is fine.

🐾 Why Kittens Shouldn’t Be Taken From Their Mom Too Early 🐾

❌ MYTH: Kittens can leave their mom as soon as they start eating on their own.
✅ FACT: Kittens need to stay with mom until at least 8 weeks old (ideally 10–12).

📌 Before then, they’re still learning:
• Social skills & play manners
• How to use the litter box
• Grooming habits
• Bite inhibition (how hard is too hard)
• Their immune system is still developing through mom’s milk

🚨 Kittens separated too early often become fearful, bitey, or hard to socialize. Many end up returned to shelters or rescues due to behavior struggles.

👉 The longer kittens stay with mom (until weaning age), the healthier, happier, and friendlier they’ll be for life!

Mamma went to the vet to check out why her leg is having issues. She got X-rays and Meloxicam to help with inflammation. We also found she has a hernia that will need fixed during spay.

We were able to cover $95 of this bill with your generous donations, but we need to make up the rest: $167.

We still need to raise money for her spay also!

When people ask why we charge a $130 adoption fee...well, it doesnt even cover the food let alone the vet bills!

Momma kitty still needs funds for her vet care. We raised $85, which is great and appreciated, and we need some more for spay, shots, and to check what's going on with her leg. She doesn't have good control over her legs.

Little Hansel and Gretle (the black kittens) are very sweet and adventurous. I'd love to see them adopted together.
