Be careful out there.

FDA Advisory: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is cautioning pet owners that one FDA sample of Darwin’s Natural Pet Products dog food made by Arrow Reliance, Inc. tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono) and a second FDA sample tested positive for Salmonella and L. mono. The FDA conducted this testing as part of follow up on a consumer complaint.

Affected products are sold online through a subscription service in frozen 2-pound packages and consist of certain lots of Darwin’s BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs. MORE: https://bit.ly/4pLQYH6

The affected varieties and lot codes are:

Wednesday Wisdom got a little…wiggly!

Today Dr. Wixsom encountered a Cuterebra (botfly family) on a client's domestic bunny she rescued from the wild! We highly discourage releasing domestic rabbits into the wild!🐰 While these parasites are more common in rodents, cats and rabbits, seeing them ALWAYS makes us do a double-take! 🐛

These little guys burrow under the skin, creating a lump, and can cause discomfort and even infection. Luckily, Dr. Wixsom was able to safely remove it and the bunny is already feeling much better!
