"A Merger Built on Shared Values: Two Flagstaff Animal Welfare Pillars Unite to Form a Stronger Future
A new chapter for animal welfare in Northern Arizona is beginning. High Country Humane and Coconino Humane Association, a community cornerstone since 1955, are proud to announce a collaborative merger to form a single, unified organization under the name High Country Humane.
This thoughtful unification brings together decades of compassion and community service to create a more resilient, innovative, and impactful resource for animals and the people who love them.
This decision was not made lightly. The merger process was developed through months of collaborative planning by a special joint committee, with experts from NAU’s Paul Thomas Center for Nonprofit Entrepreneurship and legal counsel from AWD Law. This process, which begins immediately, will be completed in thoughtful phases that prioritize service to the community.
This is an exciting step forward, one that builds on a strong foundation of compassion and ensures we can continue serving animals and our community for years to come.
