Fun Fact Friday ✨
Did you know Arizona is home to some of the largest elk in the world? 🦌 Our elk can weigh up to 700 pounds, and the bulls grow antlers that can stretch over 4 feet tall!

🦴 Bull elk shed their antlers every spring, and new ones start growing almost immediately—gaining up to an inch a day!

🍂 In the fall, their famous bugle call echoes through the forests, a sound that’s both wild and unforgettable.

Arizona Mule Deer season is here:
Did you know…
🏹 Bucks can weigh up to 300 lbs.
🏹 Their antlers fork as they grow, making each rack unique.
🏹 The rut peaks in late November–December—prime time for hunters.
🏹 They’re famous for their stotting leap, a tricky move to dodge predators.

From desert scrub to high-country pines, Arizona mule deer keep hunters on their toes. Good luck this season to everyone heading out—may your sights be steady and your freezers be full! 🍂

We’ve had a full and busy Labor Day weekend here at the shop! 🎣🦌 Our artist, Mandi, has been hard at work bringing your trophies to life with her incredible attention to detail. We’re so grateful for all of our customers who trust us with their memories—it’s an honor to create mounts that will be cherished for years to come.

🦌 Mule deer season opened last Friday and we’ve already had plenty of deer coming through the shop! It’s shaping up to be a great season. Good luck to all our hunters out there—stay safe and happy hunting! 🍂

Friday Fun Fact! 🌿
Did you know the red duiker is one of the smallest antelope in Africa? Usually standing around 18 inches tall and weighing 25–35 pounds, these shy forest dwellers are known for their reddish coats and secretive nature.

This one is also one of our many exciting projects here at Signature Taxidermy — preserving the beauty of wildlife both big and small. 🛠️✨

Over 30 years ago, Steve Favour started Signature Taxidermy Studio. As a talented taxidermist devoted to his business, he gained recognition worldwide and was known as one of the best in the Southwest. Steve specialized in African, Exotic, and North American life-size and shoulder mounts, but could do it all. Steve was a lifetime member of the Safari Club International and the United Taxidermist's Association, master measurer, and a certified AWF measurer.

Steve believed it was important to share his knowledge of the taxidermy industry with his employees and ran signature Taxidermy as a team effort. He taught those working for him everything he knew, and stressed the importance of quality products and customer service, in hopes that Signature Taxidermy would be a long lasting Flagstaff business, and his legacy would continue. Signature Taxidermy still has the same values and standards put into every mount.
