On Monday May 4th at 1:40am we lost our first furry family member. R***r joined our family when he was already 5 years old. The past 6 years with him has truly been a dream. R***r was the biggest and most intimidating out of our pack to some but he would be the first to befriend a butterfly. In fact he probably would have been afraid of the butterfly. He was the most gentle, sweetest, loyal best friend you could ever ask for. He was the first to greet you and embrace you with a big hug. R***r was my husband, Corbin’s dog wholeheartedly. Those two bonded from the day he came into our lives and Corbin was his person. R***r always knew when his daddy’s truck and trailer was coming down the road and would be sure to alert us all how excited he was to have him home. Even if Corbin was only away for 20 minutes. The past couple of years R***r took a strong liking to my mom. My mom and Corbin would have a rivalry on who R***r liked more. ( My mom usually won)
This has hit us so hard as it came very unexpected. R***r’s last day with us was spent on a beautiful hike with all 4 of us. We truly had the best unknowingly last day with him. We do find comfort knowing that we were all home together with him as he took his final breaths. It was quick, quiet and seemed to be peaceful. We loved on him to the very end. Having all your large breed dogs in their double digits you’d think we’d be ready for this but you can never fully prepare despite all the conversations you have about your senior dogs and their health. R***r, Ru, Twoey, TuTu, there will never be another dog like you. We love you so much, you will always be in our hearts and a HUGE part of our story. May you rest in peace big guy. 🤍
