A colleague of mine has had my worst nightmare come true. Her home burned down with 4 of dogs and 2 ferrets still inside. This emotional devastation is unimaginable. Please help support her putting the physical damage back together. The emotional healing will be much much harder. I can’t believe this has happened.

💔💔Please help! Someone who has helped our rescue and who dedicates her life to animals has lost everything: her home, 4 of her dogs, and her ferrets. It is devastating and unimaginable. Let’s come together and help however we can!

In all seriousness, though, there are a number of reasons why a dog might refuse food. They could be too afraid or to excited, they could be more driven by environmental rewards, they could have a digestive issue. The keys to getting your dog to cooperate are meeting them where they’re at, finding out what motivates them, and of course ruling out any underlying conditions that may be preventing them from learning.
