It's June 1st! Which means it's time to celebrate our Pet of the Month for this wonderful, sunny time of year! Join us in celebrating Charlotte, the most perfect Himalayan you'll ever meet 🐾💕
1. How long have you had Charlotte?
We picked up Charlotte in July 2012, she was born in May 2012😺
2. Where did you adopt/rescue Charlotte?
Ummmm, we shopped. Don’t judge. We found a Himalayan breeder in Southern Indiana. 💸
3. Does Charlotte have a favorite person?
Charlotte’s favorite person is ME! 😁
4. Does Charlotte have a favorite toy?
Charlotte does not have a favorite toy. Every now and again, she’ll walk past her “jingle ball” and give it a little swat…until it ends up under something that she can’t get to any longer. She likes to chase bugs if they get in the house, does that count? 😂
5. Does Charlotte have a favorite treat/food?
Charlotte’s favorite treats are: Instinct Raw Meals (freeze dried) - chicken recipe. We call them “chickies” and she literally sits outside the pantry door and tries to “will” it open when she wants a snack. No meowing; just staring. 🐥
6. Does Charlotte’s name have a special significance or origin story?
We name her Charlotte because it seemed to have a little sass to it. And she is all that and more. Quite sassy and confident. I thought we would call her Charlie (another reason for the name), but Charlotte suited her so much more that we never went back. 🥰
7. Does Charlotte have any interesting or funny quirks?
Interesting quirk? When she finds a sleeping spot during the day, it becomes the one and only place she’ll sleep for a couple of weeks (unless it’s bed time). I’m not really sure what makes her change to a new place when she does, but it’s definitely her thing. Sometimes it’s in plain sight, other times, we really have to look for her. 💤
8. What is a funny story (or your favorite story) about
Charlotte that you would like to share?
When we first brought her home, we decided that she was too little to navigate the house, so we gated her for the first few days in so she couldn’t get in the basement or upstairs. After a week, she learned to squeeze through the sides of the gate and eventually climbed up the netting of the gate to enter new territory. She found her way upstairs to my bed (and scaled the bed, she was so darn tiny, that she couldn’t jump that high) and the rest is history. She’s pretty much slept by my side nearly every single night. Well, in reality, she’s a cat, so she sleeps with me when it benefits her, but it’s nearly every night. Ha! 🤪
