We have been beyond busy at the shop and on top of mounting deer we got our bear rugs back from getting felt put around them. Plus we had a few of our customers want pillows made with some of their African hides they had. I wasn’t sure how I thought about them when we sent them to get done but when they came back I was amazed at how nice they were. The deer have been steady getting completed and picked up at the shop. Of course everyone has been thrilled with getting them back especially the kids. Kids always give the best reactions to getting their mounts back regardless of what the mount is. The upcoming weeks I’ve got a mix of animals to get mounted from deer, bear, and a few African animals. Pictures to come.

🇺🇸Happy Fourth of July 🇺🇸 from Bears Den Taxidermy. We wish you all a happy and safe holiday.

The deer are rolling out of the shop this week. I’m almost wrapped up on all the archery bucks then continuing right into rifle bucks. The most recent group of deer had some studs for PA and there are more to be mounted. I had the opportunity to mount a brute of a buck that the customer wanted done as a wall pedestal. Along with the buck being a heavy 12, he had a very unique double throat patch that extended to the brisket. Yes it’s alway nice to see how big of deer people shoot. But I enjoy just seeing the different patterns and colors of the capes.

This week Bill Hise and I finished up this brute of a Canadian black bear. The base and scenery were done by Bill. I ended up working on the bear mount solo this time. The customer gave us a picture and to get everything to match I had to cut the paw on the form and turn it along with turing the head more to the left and slightly tilting it down. Now the customer gets to enjoy this mount and relive the day he put this big boy down.

I definitely haven’t been posting much. But we have been busting out the work at the shop. Between skinning and fleshing spring bear then getting life size mounts out and deer it’s been nonstop. We had a heck of a deer season this year and now a fantastic spring bear season. Plus we wrapped up the African animals we had. Just before we get another shipment from Africa.

We’ve been staying beyond busy at the shop. Not only are we getting the lifesize mounts wrapped up we have been getting our deer capes and other should mount animals including elk, moose, and African game. If you ever go and ask a taxidermist what’s the most common animal they do are most will say deer and that is definitely the truth but all have a favorite animal to work on. Me personally I will jump on the opportunity to work on coyotes, foxes, and bobcats. I definitely have a passion for small mammals and yes deer. So if you or anyone you know is looking for quality small mammals, coyotes, and bobcat please send them my way. All thought I jump at these animals I still enjoy working on bear, deer, and all other species.

Been busting out the work in the shop and started to get the deer hides back from the tannery so if white tails are your main interest when it’s comes to a mount check out these two short haired boys from a father son duo. There are definitely more pictures of mounts in the process and deer to come.

We been putting in the hours at the shop this week. We’ve went from skinning to finished mount to get them back to the customer to enjoy. We got a 32 pound bobcat in to be mounting up in the open beams in the customer house along with getting to coyotes mounted up and getting ready to have the final touches done to them. Two black bears got to go to their final destination one being a lifesize pa black bear and an Arizona 3/4 mount.

I haven’t been posting much. But I had the opportunity to mount a woodland caribou from Newfoundland which is defiantly a cross of the list of animals I would love to mount. They by far have the softest fur that I have encountered on one of the many animals I’ve have got the chance to mount. I thought for a change I would do something I never do and get some up close picture of the faces on some of the mounts I’m finishing up to really show you the detail that gose into a mount.
