Cat Hoarder Update

Yesterday a group of us went to clean up the house and the barn. Many of the cats are very friendly and cuddly in spite of their terribly sad and unhealthy living environment. Especially sad for the cats in the barn who aren't allowed outside to get fresh air. Please keep spreading the word that these cats need new homes.

****** Short-Term Fosters Needed ******

After the kittens and cats get spay/neutered, they cannot go back to the hoarding house while they recover from surgery. They need to be somewhere clean in order to remain healthy while waiting to be adopted out.

Specifically, 6 adults cats need fostering and several kittens. Please reply here if you can offer a room in your house for fostering post-surgery cats/kittens. This would be a minimum of 1 week and would require you to administer oral antibiotics daily. Thank you.

***** URGENT Help Needed *****
Posting for Cheryl, a Baltimore area cat rescuer.

“There is a hoarding situation in Gwynn Oak, MD that has worsened now that the wife has died. The husband cannot care for their (estimated) 100 cats indoors (with capability to go outdoors) and an additional (maybe 50) in a barn on the property.

We are planning a day for a mobile spay clinic to visit the property but the details have not been fully worked out. Meanwhile cats are lying in their own f***s... all cats need to be adopted out ASAP.

All kitties will come fully vetted (spay/neuter, rabies, distemper) but based on the cats we have removed from the house most likely they will need to be on Albon and Panacur for a week.

I may be able to get the owner to agree to allow you to come to the house and pick out the kitty of your choice; OR worst case, we will pick the youngest and friendliest for you (unless, of course, you want an older cat).

Please, if anyone has even room for one, we may be able to make this situation a bit more manageable.”

*Volunteer Opportunity* In North Baltimore Area (at Morgan State)

Looking for someone available to feed once or twice a week.
One small colony, takes about 15 minutes to do. Volunteer to provide their own dry cat food.

Currently only one person feeds the cats at this location every day. She's hoping someone can take over a day or two per week to give her a break.
