While tending to his poultry, rabbits, and goats in high school Jordan began to notice a need for a feed and supply store that had a different approach to the way that a customer received their products. After talking with a couple different FFA Advisors, a paper napkin business plan was originated for Findlay’s next small business, Affordable Pet Feeds. Jordan believed that if he a great product, great customer service, and delivered his product to his customers that he could have a sustainable income and a way to support his family.
Affordable Pet Feeds was a delivery only business while Jordan was in high school and in college. During that time he worked with customers throughout Northwest, OH as well as Southeast Michigan. Working as close to his customers as he did, Jordan was able to learn a lot of skills and knowledge about the animals he was selling feed for.
2015:
Thanks to all of the support that he received from the community and his family, in 2015 Jordan placed 2nd in Ohio in his FFA Proficiency project category and later that year received his FFA American degree.
It was also in 2015 that Affordable Pet Feeds turned into Omni Feed and Supply and was changed from a high school FFA project into a family business. Starting out of an old motel room and humble beginnings. Jordan and his family now offered a store where people could walk in and order feed for pick up by the next business day.
2017:
Thanks to all of the Wright family’s community support, Omni Feed and Supply has really continued to grow and expand.
With the new competition in 2017: 2 new feed stores moving into Findlay, and the continual rise in livestock feed prices, Jordan and his family continued to evolve their business to the needs of their customers. Where as Omni Feed and Supply once only sold livestock feed, they have now branched off into selling premier and high quality pet food and treats as well. With a continued belief in selling high quality products that they feed to their own animals
End of 2017:
With the competition of 2017, Jordan and his family are extremely thankful for all of their customer’s support throughout the journey of building a small business. Now, Omni Feed and Supply, and the Wright family is making changes to get ready for the new year.
