Our club wouldn’t be what it is, in any capacity, if not for Cameron Carlisle. For most of our club’s dogs, he has laid the foundation of their protection work, guided much of their OB, and taught their handlers the rules of the sport. He is teacher, brainstormer, organizer, and the face of professionalism when necessary. He is also our comic relief, guidance counselor and the herder of cats.

All of these roles are seldom better demonstrated all at once than they were this weekend, in the success of several dogs on the field, as well as the organization of the event overall.

Additionally, he was on the field not only as a decoy, but as senior decoy (which entails guiding and offering feedback to the other decoys), and also a steward.

It’s a lot of hats to wear, all while hunting unicorns.

Thank you Cameron, for all that you do!

PSA Trial Secretaires do so much for competitors and hosts. Mary drove all the way from Florida to help us ensure a smooth flow of competition. There is sooo much going on and she ensured we had one more thing to not worry about during trial. You are so organized and knowledgeable Mary, it truly was amazing to have you at our side during this weekends events!

This was our clubs first time hosting the PSA East Coast Regional Championships! We want to thank our amazing Regional Director Janet Edwards for allowing us this opportunity and letting our club take on this honor. Our PSA Judges have one of these most challenging jobs! We were fortunate to have Steve Roberts this past weekend judging the East Coast PSA Regional Championship, including the following BRWDC club trial. Steve is a true expert of his craft and understands PSA from every corner. It truly shows in his scenarios, critiques, empathy, and passion for dogs/handlers. We cannot thank he and his family enough for taking time away from their lives to come share that knowledge with our club and those trusting us for this event!

For anyone who has ever trialed a dog, there are a lot of people who VOLUNTEER their time so we can enjoy our dogs and compete in one of the best dog sports available. Decoys are not perfect but they are held to a near perfect expectation. Without a doubt, our East Coast Regional Select Decoys executed all aspects of their work BEAUTIFULLY! They were professional, engaged, and performed at the highest level we could ask for. We are so fortunate to have these decoys in our sport and we want to thank them for their time, expertise, and talent. You four absolutely killed it this weekend and we are so extreamly grateful!

PSA can only grow through positive outreach and support for those who show interest! Isa is our newest member, joining just a few short months ago and got the opportunity to shed some trial nerves with one of the clubs retired competition dogs. Isa got to experience what goes in to competition and the nerves that come with is. She did an excellent job channeling her nerves and executing a beautiful routine with a dog she barely knows. Thank you PSA for allowing seasoned dogs to help enrich new handlers in competition and allow us to expose our teams to trials so they can see what it takes. This journey to competition is long, emotional, and costly. We truly feel this exposure helped this handler understand and respect our sport on a deeper level!
