Some may know the struggle is real out their. Pappys Paws has been put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances! Today is not an easy day. We've lost a special member that's part of the Pappy's community. Laika (AKA Old Timer) passed away comfortably on 05/08/2022 @ 1026. He's found himself a forever home in God's arms.

We still can hear him barking for us to walk him and take him out to his favorite spot to rest. Or his jealously when we took Bart out first before him. I still can feel his presence with us, making sure we're safe.
This is what we're about, making a difference for these hard-working animals. We want them to find forever homes/families so that when the hardest day comes. They pass with the joy to know what it meant to be loved. The old-timer was loved by all staff and volunteers. We remember exactly the first time, he lean on one of our staff and rested. He felt so comfortable and safe.

Sled dogs have a hard time being adopted out. As overtime working in extreme conditions. They begin to build trust issues, Lose mobility, have territorial behavior problems, Food protection & more. Many of the time, they aren't trained and are always tethered or kenneled. These are reasons people don't look out for!! They just see a cute husky for "cheap" and adopt it. Sending back to a shelter where they will be euthanized. Before adopting always do your research.
