We have been working hard lately- we have expanded our products and getting ready for Auburns Petpalooza in May! Henry loves when we try new things- he gets to be the taste tester. Will be updating the website soon!

It’s on Facebook so it just be true- Happy Henry’s has a new recipe! Chicken and rice with egg and pumpkin!
When there is an upset tummy, chicken and rice soothes and comforts. Egg is the easily digestible protein making pups feel full without feeling yucky while digesting. Pumpkin, the wonder fiber is amazing with diarrhea/loose stools or constipation. Pumpkin is a natural prebiotic which feeds the probiotic naturally found in the gut and micro biome. Plus pumpkin helps reduce liquid along the digestive track.

It was another fill the freezer night last night!! Now that fall is around the corner, I am able to get fresh pumpkin. Fun fact- Happy Henry’s uses fresh pumpkin purée in the Turkey recipe- not the canned stuff! Pumpkins are from the local farms too!

What is a “novel protein”?
A novel protein is a protein the body is not as familiar with, a protein not typically found in pet foods or treats such as bison, venison, duck, pork, alligator, kangaroo etc.

Who would benefit or need a novel protein?
Typically novel proteins are used when a dog is experiencing a sensitivity or allergy to a common protein (such as chicken - or all poultry, beef lamb etc). This sensitivity can look like ye**ty inflamed ears, excessive licking of the feet, digestive upset (vomiting and/or diarrhea)

Let’s talk pork! Pork is a fantastic novel protein because it is not used as widely in pet food, while still not being a “game meat” making it a bit easier to find. Though us humans call pork “the other white meat” it’s molecular is closer to beef putting it in the red meat category!

Happy Henry’s has been busy this week! Made another batch of Beef Topper, peanut butter pupsicles, blueberry pupsicles and got the new website started!!!
Henry is of course a huge help during all of this! If I can’t find my kitchen towel, I know where it is- with Henry!
