I had some good help in the shop today.
This is the degreasing process, the purpose of this step is to pull out those stubborn fats and oils from the bone. This step could be skipped completely and you could go straight to whitening, but over time there is a chance of those fats and oils seeping out and turning the bone yellow and even leaving a foul smell. The length of this step varies animal to animal, some being more stubborn than others. These particular skulls will sit for another week, changing out the water every couple of days and be ready for whitening. Stay tuned!!
