Happy gotcha day Lucy. One year ago today we pulled Lucy from the Bradshaw shelter in Sacramento. It was her second time behind bars for biting. She was on her last few days. She continued to test the theory that biting is always the best choice for about six months. Since January she is not bitten a person or her brother dogs. We don't give her the opportunity to test her theory that biting strangers would be a good choice, we are sure she would think it was. She has not bitten or tried to bite a cat but remains steadfast on the fact that cats are not that important.

Sorry I didn't have a chance to update about Lily yesterday. We took her to UC Davis after she started walking on her knees about two weeks ago. She had radiographs. Luckily there is no break at all. She does have bruising around her ankles and foot. Maybe she got stuck in something? But her feet really were long so it could be that too. We normally have them trimmed every four months but it's gone an extra two months because of scheduling and weather issues. We'll try to make sure she gets on a better trimming schedule going forward. She's still knee walking this morning. Doctor said give her a week or two and see if it resolves and if it doesn't we would dive in a little more deeper to see if it couldn't be something else. If anybody would like to help with this Vet bill it would be most appreciated we have been slammed with so many extra Animal related expenses yesterday that it's been a struggle with Steve off work

Just returned from the avian vet with Pip. At first she thought it was a fractured femur but x-rays proved there is no fracture. This is either a soft tissue injury or potentially Mereks. We are more inclined to think soft tissue injury as Mereks usually takes them pretty quickly. There is signs of nerve damage so on the fence about true diagnosis . If anybody can help with this vet bill it would be most appreciated. We have had so many extra expenses and more coming with Lily the goat having to go to UC Davis tomorrow. we have raised $75 towards the bill so far. Thank you to Donya and Sandy and Ron

Hey all,
I'm thinking about doing an auction as we are absolutely bleeding money here. Of course nothing can happen one thing at a time everything has to happen all at once. We have a goat that needs to go to UC Davis a bird that needs to go to the Avian Medical Center and we are responsible for part of the payment for the kitten that has pneumonia. On top of that we have Kermit who sees an oncologist and a cardiologist for his heart disease and lymphoma. In May we have the Ferrier for the goats and in June we have the farrier for the pigs. On top of all of that Steve is getting ready to go down for his hip replacement surgery so will not be working couldn't come at a worse time. The last time I did an auction it wasn't very successful. It's a lot of work and I really don't want to put one up if no one's interested as I'm already stretched really thin between the animals my mom and other commitments and responsibilities. I've also tried just selling things but that doesn't seem to work either. Let me know what you guys think. I appreciate every one of you and want you all to know how hard it is to even have to ask for financial support. I think all sanctuaries feel that way.
