Soooo this happened this week... As this beautiful cat was removed from her carrier for her presurgical exam Dr. Monroe noticed blood on hind end and then noticed she had just given birth to a healthy kitten!!!! Change of plans.... Mama was provided a quiet covered larger crate and five additional kittens arrived over the course of the day. Well, that is a first!!! ❤

Spay Neuter Northwest would like to say THANK YOU to Whatcom Feline Alliance for their tireless effort in supporting feral cat TNR and spay/neuter. WFA has been working hard helping domestic cat owners obtain financial assistance vouchers, scheduling spay neuter appointments for both domestic and feral cats, acclimating and trapping feral cats, and transporting both domestic and feral cats to and from their spay neuter appointments. THANK YOU WFA for helping reduce both domestic free roaming and feral cat overpopulation and for "helping improve the lives of feral cats". Community collaboration SAVES LIVES.

This hunk of love has sooooo many toes.... both front and hind paws!!! This is called "Polydactyl" Polydactyly is a genetic mutation where a cat has more than the usual number of toes on one or more paws. The extra toes are typically located on the front paws, and can look like "thumbs". This condition is caused by a dominant gene, meaning only one copy of the gene is needed for a cat to be polydactyl.
