The countdown is officially on! ⏳ We are exactly 1 month and 17 days away from our Enchanted Trail Walk and Community Give Back Festival, and we need our Northwest Arkansas community to rally with us!

At the Paws Forward Foundation , our mission is deeply rooted in healing. We are dedicated to providing ADA-compliant, highly task-trained service dogs—focusing on psychiatric assistance, medical alerts, and mobility support—for veterans and survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Every dog we train works toward Assistance Dogs International (ADI) standards, mastering the Canine Good Citizen test and rigorous Public Access Tests to become true lifelines for those battling invisible wounds.

This upcoming festival directly funds that life-saving mission while providing a magical day of trick-or-treating for local foster youth and assembling care packages for deployed troops. To make this happen, we are calling all community members to get involved:

🤝 SPONSORS: We urgently need corporate and local business partners to help fund the logistics of this event and the ongoing advanced task-training of our service dogs.

🎪 VENDORS: Come set up a booth! Vendor spots are completely FREE, but we require all vendors to hand out candy or a fun activity for the kids trick-or-treating the trail. It is a fantastic way to showcase your business while giving back!

🙌 VOLUNTEERS: We need energetic hands on deck to help man the festival activities and assist with gathering vital donations throughout the day.

🎟️ GUESTS & SUPPORTERS: Bring your family, walk the trail, and celebrate community resilience with us!

When you support this event, you are directly supporting women’s mental health, MST awareness, and the empowerment of our local heroes.

Please send us a direct message to claim your free vendor spot, sign up to volunteer, or discuss sponsorship opportunities. Let’s create some magic and move paws forward together! 🐾✨

❓ The Complete Correct Answer:
Under Arkansas state guidelines and strict organizational protocols, a Service Dog in Training (SDiT) must have:
An orange leash and collar.
A training vest or cape that clearly states "Service Dog in Training".
A current rabies certificate on hand.
A qualified trainer or handler present with the dog when accessing certain public spaces.

So, why are all these specific requirements so incredibly important?

1️⃣ It’s the Law for Public Access
While fully trained Service Dogs are protected federally under the ADA, Service Dogs in Training fall under state jurisdiction. Because they are still learning, states like Arkansas require specific visual markers—like the orange gear and clear text—for our trainers to legally bring them into businesses and public spaces.

2️⃣ Safety and Emergency Preparedness
Having the rabies certificate on hand and emergency contact info zipped into the vest ensures that in the event of an emergency, the dog's medical status is verified and the handler or organization can be immediately contacted. It is a hallmark of responsible, professional handling.

3️⃣ Setting Clear Boundaries for the Public
When you see the vest clearly marking them in training, it is a polite but firm message to the public: "I am in school right now." Our dogs are learning complex tasks—like medical alerts, mobility assistance, and psychiatric support. Distracting them can undo weeks of training.

4️⃣ Legitimizing the Process
Service dog fraud makes life harder for disabled handlers who truly rely on these animals. By strictly adhering to state laws and ADI training standards (including requiring a qualified trainer to be present), we show our community that we are doing this the right way.

Here at Paws Forward Foundation , we are building a supportive community focused on empowering veterans and women, raising awareness for mental health, and supporting MST survivors.

We do not train guide dogs for the blind, but rather focus on psychiatric assistance, medical alert, and mobility dogs. The rigorous public access training our handlers do today ensures that tomorrow, these dogs can be the unwavering lifelines our recipients deserve. 💙🐕‍🦺
