We have had a tough weekend here at TCC. We received news that Diesel, Boss of the Bigs as we call him, has crossed the rainbow bridge. ππΎ Our hearts are broken and we give loving thoughts to his parents during this time.
Diesel was a Chocolate Lab/Pit Mix and has been with us for 14 years! He started off in Puppy Preschool and was to be known as a very difficult puppy. Val suggested his parents bring him to Doggy Daycare to help him socialize and burn off his energy. Who knew that he would take that as his purpose in life. Diesel was every dog you could ask for and more in a Doggy Daycare. He might as well have been an employee. π€£ He gave appropriate corrections to dogs when needed, taught hundreds of young dogs over the years how to behave and be a model citizen, and knew how to make an empowering presence in the room when needed. He would protect the staff if he needed to and loved each person that came through here.
Diesel was our go to dog for difficult dogs, over excited dogs, and many more. He knew how to approach, how to back off, how to give just enough to let one know he isn't to be messed with, but will respect their boundaries as well. We won't find another like him for a while. Diesel's favorite thing at Daycare was to start "Howl Fests" when the full moon was near and to of course mark his perimeter (every inch).
14 years of wonderful memories with him and his family. We are so beyond grateful to have gotten the pleasure of helping raise that handsome pup into a fine dog. He was such a strong boy through young and old age and we are going to miss him so much.
Our job is rewarding and so much fun, but times like this are difficult on us as we love each dog that comes through our doors like they are our own. Rest In Peace and frolic through those hills.
