media sites must pertain to the topic presented. The following are examples that the county considers to be unacceptable social media content and comments. Please note this list is not intended to be all-inclusive:

· Spam or videos or links to other sites;

· Solicitations, advertisements, or endorsement of any financial, commercial, political candidate, political party, or non-governmental agency;

· Duplicate posts by the same author (the original post will be left intact assuming it meets the guidelines of acceptable comments or content).

· Repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users;

· Obscene materials;

· Advocation of illegal activity;

· Infringement on copyrights or trademarks.

· Confidential or non-public information, including, but not limited to email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, or any personally identifiable medical information or any confidential or non-public information that violates the legal rights of an individual. Social Media Statements, comments, views and/or opinions expressed on county social media sites are strictly those of their authors and do not, necessarily, represent the opinions or policies of Cumberland County Government, its agents, officers, or employees. Griffin needs a hero!

This handsome heeler boy is in danger of euthanasia. He was surrendered to a full shelter and he’s so scared here. His time is running out. He seems to be more comfortable with women (at least in this environment). He appears to be dog friendly. Griffin is 4 years old and heartworm negative.

He is available for an understanding adopter or rescue. He would thrive with someone who understands his breed and the characteristics that are expected for heelers.

Want to get your steps in AND change a shelter dog’s life? 👟🐾

We’re starting a Running & Walking Club for our pups… but we need a core group of 10–15 dedicated volunteers to make it happen.

Here’s how it works:
✅ Meet on scheduled dates (weekly or twice a month).
✅ Get paired with a shelter dog for walking or running.
✅ Stay on our half-mile trail OR (with approval) head to a nearby walking path.
✅ Dogs get exercise & enrichment, and YOU hit your step goals with the best workout buddy around.

⚡ If we get enough interest, we’ll officially launch Mutts on the Move!

‼️Warning: sad story ahead!

Hattie Mae needs a home. 💔
She belonged to someone who was homeless, and after they passed away, she was left behind the grocery store with nowhere to go. She is 9 years old, appears dog friendly and is heartworm negative.

When Hattie came to us, she was very sick. Our vet discovered she had pyometra (a life-threatening infection) and rushed her into emergency surgery. That surgery saved her life.

But Hattie didn’t get her second chance just to spend her days sitting in a shelter kennel. She deserves love, comfort, and a family of her own. 🐾

You can meet Hattie Mae at Cumberland County Animal Services (4704 Corporation Dr., Fayetteville).
We’re open Monday–Friday 11am–5:30pm and Saturday 1pm–5pm.
