We’re hiring for MORNINGS, AFTERNOONS & WEEKENDS for Cleaning & Maintenance Positions at our pet store!

Job Duties Include:
• Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures
• Lifting bags, cages, and supplies (up to 50 lbs)
• Getting up close and personal with animals of all kinds
• Keeping the store clean, safe, and smelling mostly normal

Requirements (aka the non-negotiables):
• 🚗 Reliable transportation (animals don’t wait on rides)
• 💪 Able to lift 50 lbs
• 🐾 Not afraid of animals — you’ll be working with them daily
• 👶 If you have children, childcare must be arranged
• 🚫 Children may not be brought to work

THIS JUST IN! BREAKING NEWS! AQUARAMA JUST GOT SOME OF THE CUTEST LITTLE GUYS EVER IN!

Smaller than a house cat, with large, dark eyes, velvety rounded ears, and oh-so soft, grayish fur, the chinchilla is perhaps one of the most enchanting rodents around! These guys are crazy social & can live in family groups called herds! Chinchillas are clean , quiet , & don’t have a smell which is always nice to have in a pet ! These guys can live up to 10-20 years .

A CHINCHILLA’s DIET:
Hay:
•The primary component of a chinchilla's diet.
Provides essential fiber for digestion and dental health. Timothy hay is the preferred type, as it's low in calcium.

Pellets:
•Formulated specifically for chinchillas and provide essential nutrients not found in hay.
Should be high in fiber and low in fat

Fresh Vegetables:
****In limited quantities, fresh vegetables can provide additional nutrients and variety.

•Safe options include leafy greens (e.g., spinach, kale), carrots, and broccoli.

****Avoid vegetables high in sugar or calcium (e.g., potatoes, tomatoes, beans).

Fruits:
****Similar to vegetables, fruits should be given in moderation.

• Safe options include berries (e.g., raspberries, blueberries), apples (without seeds), and bananas.

****Avoid fruits high in sugar or citric acid (e.g., grapes, oranges).

Other Foods:
****Seeds and nuts should be avoided as they are high in fat and can cause digestive issues.
****Treats like cheese or milk are also not recommended, as chinchillas are lactose intolerant!

Sample Diet:
80-90% Timothy hay, 10-20% chinchilla pellets, and Small amounts of fresh vegetables and fruits (as treats). (CHINCHILLAS NEED CONSTANTANT ACCESS TO FRESH WATER)

Have you guys met our Red-Footed Tortoises ?!

These guys are a medium sized tortoise, native to forest and grasslands of Central and South America ! Red foot Tortises are known to be quite sociable animals and are active during most of the daytime! These guys can live up to about 90 years in Captivity !

•These guys are Omnivores , but primarily eat plant material.

—Fruits for the red footed tortoise:—

•Strawberries are a favorite
•Blueberries
•Sliced Mangos
•Blackberries
•Honeydew, Water melon and other green melon like cantaloupe
•Papaya is great!
•Bananas sparingly
•Tomatoes occasionally

—Greens/Vegetables for the red footed tortoise:—

•Romaine Lettuce
•Kale
•Escarole
•Turnip Greens
•Collard Greens
•Mustard Greens
•Radicchio
•Squashes
•Zucchini
•Pumpkin
•Carrot
