Been a wild weekend at music city hrc test . It was a great but long event for WDR . All the pups did well , not everyone passed both days but did showed major improvement and showed us what to work on . I’ll post individual post for each pup because they deserve there own spot light . We ran 12 pups so our day was full and drawn out but I love what I do and wouldn’t trade it for the world , so thankful to have this life style. I want to thank the board members, judges and workers for there hard work it doesn’t go unnoticed. Love the grounds and a great banquet Saturday evening, great food and enjoyed catching up with everyone. We got done late Sunday and headed home at 6 , was driving in the dark and had a minor problem . The receiver hitch broke and my new rack was dragging , had to get out on the side of the highway and unload the generator and strap the rack up good enough to get home . Got up and started training and when it was Nex’s turn I noticed her neck and lower jaw swollen hugely. Rushed her to the vet and she had got bit sometime at the test by a snake , just my luck . With her all go attitude it was hard to tell without noticing the swelling around her neck . Not the end of the world just a set back . Hopefully she heels quickly for grand training . Anyway I hope all my hunt test family had a safe trip home and got tons of ribbons , catch ya next time .

Miss Lego is now HRCH Lego MH . Lego is a Maestro/ Nex pup , a WDR bred and raised pup . Lego was a pin point marker and ran straight lines from birth . Instant team player and desire beyond. She went from seasoned on Saturday to finished on Sunday with ease , she had no fails and was on track to HRCH before one year of age until she got snake bit while working . At that point she refused to pick up anything, she would run right over a white bumper in cut grass and leave the area . She had been rock steady at the line , wouldn’t move a muscle even at test . I had to switch up training with no pressure, no steadiness, make everything a game and fun and up beat . She slowly started coming around , would still avoid area of the fall , would jump if a blade of grass would touch her side . Had many of days wondering if the tragedy had been to much but I had seen this pup at a young age step on two hundred yard marks and poke on long marks she didn’t see fall , just a super star so I couldn’t give up . She finally got it back together enough to pass HRCH and jumped into master with a instant pass , she kept passing until she ran her first double master and she got to loose at the second test and broke on the flyer , her only fail in master . She just titled master at habitat flats test passing a double test so she keeps making strides . She still has quirks but seems to keep getting better and it’s been a battle to get the control at the line that she use to have but I can’t give up on what I know is a beast of a pup . The Grand title is our next hurdle and our only focus until it happens. I’m proud of her path back regardless

Miss Lexi is now HRCH Lexi MH . WDR trained Lexi several years ago and put a HRCH on her and she went home to family for her best life getting loving and chasing waterfowl her two favorite passions. Her dad Kenny decided to bring her back to try the grand and master after several years off . I’m so proud to be a part of this girls journey . She made it to the fourth series in the grand and didn’t see the punch bird which we ended up with a handle putting her on ones to point out but one heck of an effort . She went 6 for 6 in master to title ! She’s the little red dog that could and did and she’s an English lab ! Judges might remember this girl back when she was younger running seasoned, she was steady as a rock and wouldn’t make a peep until you released her and she hit the water swimming then she would get so mad she couldn’t get there quick enough she would bark non stop until she picked it up , yes she was ate up with it . Doesn’t matter how long I train Lexi will always have a piece of my heart and all my respect, love ya girl you be bad 💪. Congrats Kenny for owning such an awesome girl …❤️

Wounded Duck Retrievers master crew went to Habitat Flats test and had a great time, awesome grounds and crew . Thank you to the judges and staff for putting on a top notch test and busting their butts in that heat and rain . I hope everyone realizes what these clubs and judges have to do and to give their time for our great sport , I truly appreciate you all . WDR crew went 10/10. I’m truly blessed to have the opportunity to stand beside these pups that I love and created a bond that’s unbreakable.
