Thank you to Union Parish Humane Society and Live Oak Veterinary Clinic for helping us spay/neuter 7 of the foster kittens from this year today. While I am trying to focus more on wildlife, 2025 was a very difficult year for all the animals and our family. For the next 12 months, I will be returning to school and will only be able to take in a very limited number of rescue and rehab animals. This fall and winter, my goal is to get my release cages done (we already have donations for one).
If you would like to help, we still have several dog and cat fosters in our care. We can use dog and cat food. We also still have an outstanding balance at Odom Veterinary Hospital, if you would like to call in a donation. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to serving in a larger capacity in the days to come.

Friends and family, and new supporters....this is one of the reasons we need your help with the petition and meeting with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Please help us be able to continue to care for coyotes and armadillo in the LDWF Wildlife Rehabilitation program.

This is in the DFW area. However, I have noticed several out and about in our area. Also, I did help Katie Taylor out with the 4 someone reached out to her with earlier this year. They were all eating on their own and released on our property. Team work makes the dream work.

Lots more armadillos sightings as of recently!

🌱Did you know:

-The nine-banded armadillo we see in Texas is a distant cousin of the sloth and the anteater

-This same nine-banded armadillo is the only species of armadillo seen in the United States, though there are several other species found in South and Central America

-Armadillos give birth to four babies: all identical quadruplets

-Armadillos are good swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 6 minutes. They can walk underwater to the other side of a creek/river or inflate their lungs and float to the other side.

-They eat fire ants 🐜

What fun facts do you know about these cool little armored creatures? Share some trivia with us!
