The day was established by Durango® Boots and serves to recognize women involved in ranching, rodeo, farming, and other aspects of the Western industry. It also includes a tack sale, vendor area, silent auction, live auction, stick horse show for the kids , Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge competition, and horses for adoption – all to benefit the horses of Equine Humane Society.

Look at this movie star!!! Here's something a little different. This is Allan "Rocky" Lane -- the old-time western actor who said "Hello, I'm Mr. Ed" and everything else the famed talking equine ever uttered. Allan is shown here with Highland Dale, a registered Saddlebred who also played TV's "Fury". He was by Liberty Dale who was by Liberty Loan, a son of Rex Peavine. Liberty Dale's dam was by Guided By Love. Highland Dale's dam was by Lord Highland, the sire of the legendary Roxie Highland. Highland Dale was not only a TV star — he made $1,500.00 an episode on "Fury" back in the day— but a very well-bred one at that!! that we be around $20,000 today. This would be a fun job for a horse we think. 🙂
