Let’s be honest—your pet doesn’t care about America’s birthday. They care about NOT spontaneously combusting from loud noises, heat, and hot dog-induced GI distress.

🔥 Too Much Sun, Not Enough Shade
Summer isn’t a marathon—don’t let your pet spend hours baking in the sun. Heatstroke is no joke. Keep breaks in the shade, fresh water nearby, and cool spots for serious chill time.

🍗 BBQ? More like B-B-‘NO’
Your pet doesn’t need a cheeseburger. Or a corn cob. Or a sip of Uncle Larry’s IPA. Just say no to table scraps—your vet (and your carpet) will thank you.

🎇 Fireworks Are the Devil
Your pet isn’t being dramatic—those booms are terrifying. Set up a safe space, turn on the TV, and break out the calming treats or anxiety gear. Do not take them to the fireworks show. Ever. We mean it.

‼️Meet Clarissa: A Dedicated Veterinary Technician with a Heart for Animals‼️

Clarissa's journey into the world of animal care began in August 2021, when she started working in the boarding and grooming side of the veterinary field. Her passion for animals and commitment to their well-being propelled her to further her education and training, leading her to become a Veterinary Technician in July 2023🩺. With a particular love for Corgis—her own Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Maple—and an appreciation for cats and exotic pets like rabbits and guinea pigs, Clarissa thrives in environments where she can nurture and support creatures of all kinds.

“I find immense joy in helping sick animals regain their health and confidence,” she shares, expressing the fulfillment that comes from her work. Whether it’s comforting a frightened kitten or providing specialized care to an exotic pet, Clarissa’s dedication shines through every day.

When she isn't caring for furry (or scaly!) friends, Clarissa enjoys indulging in arts and crafts, channeling her creativity into various projects. 👩‍🍳Baking is another of her favorite pastimes, allowing her to share sweet treats with family and friends. Fans of animated comedy will often find her wrapped up in episodes of "Bob’s Burgers," alongside her 🎬 Netflix and Hulu binge-watching sessions.

Meet Punkin 🐱, a majestic Domestic Medium Hair who has proudly held court in the Foss household since her adoption. Born on April 17, 2011, this fourteen-year-old feline has transformed from a wide-eyed stray into the undisputed queen of her domain👑

Punkin, always a connoisseur of comfort, can often be found lounging in the sun on her favorite window perch, basking in the warm rays and surveying her kingdom. With her luxurious fur shimmering in the light, she embodies the relaxed elegance of a true royalty.

Her reign is complemented by an impressive array of treats that keep her spirits high—any lickable treats or crunchy greenies are devoured with the enthusiasm befitting a queen. Punkin's love for catnip scratchers adds to her refined taste, turning playtime into a regal affair.

Once a wandering stray found alongside her sister, Punkin quickly adapted to her royal role within the Foss family, effortlessly charming everyone with her delightful personality and affectionate nature. **Client Service Representative Jasmine's Journey at CVS**

Jasmine’s journey as a Client Service Representative began in September 2024, when she stepped into the vibrant world of CVS. From day one, she was captivated by the friendly atmosphere that surrounded her. The welcoming smiles of co-workers and the cheerful chatter of customers, often accompanied by their beloved pets, made every shift feel like a community gathering. For Jasmine, this environment not only made work enjoyable but also ignited her passion for learning more about the veterinary field.

When she’s not assisting customers or chatting with their furry friends, Jasmine dreams of traveling to her favorite destination: Costa Rica. The country’s untamed wilderness and diverse wildlife capture her imagination, giving her inspiration for future adventures. On her bucket list is a trip to Japan, where she hopes to immerse herself in its rich culture and breathtaking landscapes.

At home, Jasmine shares her life with her African Grey Parrot named Toby. With a vibrant personality, Toby adds joy to her daily routine, filling her home with delightful chirps and companionship.

‼️Meet Ledger: The Agility Loving Rough Collie‼️

Hello, everyone! My name is Ledger, and I’m a proud seven-year-old Rough Collie. I joined my family in November 2017, and it's been an adventure ever since! My absolute favorite treat has to be freeze-dried beef liver. Yum! I adore my tennis ball🎾; it’s the perfect companion for games of fetch. Fetch and agility are what I live for! There’s nothing quite like the thrill of navigating an obstacle course at full speed.
❤️Memorable Moments - One of my most cherished memories was taking 7th place at the premier sweepstakes at the National Agility Competition. Not only did I earn a shiny ribbon, but I also walked away with $25! That day was unforgettable and filled with joy.
⁉️Did you know⁉️ I am the first dog in North Dakota to achieve the prestigious AGCH (Agility Grand Champion) title! This accomplishment means so much to me and my owner, Sara. 👑🏆🎉
📌 Naughtiest Moment🗑
Of course, every champion has their mischievous side! One of my naughtiest moments happened right after an agility run. I was so excited that I playfully bit Sara's hip, which left a bruise. Oops! Sometimes my enthusiasm gets the best of me!

‼️Meet Thor: The Beloved Domestic Shorthair ‼️

Thor, a charismatic nineteen-year-old Domestic Shorthair, has been a cherished member of the family for many years. His story began in 9th grade when his owner’s mother brought him home as a rescue. Thor was in poor health at the time, but with tender care and love, he flourished alongside his beloved sister, Betty, who sadly passed away last July.
Thor has a penchant for playing with cat balls, which never fail to bring him joy as he chases them around the house. However, what he loves even more is a snug cuddle session or being gently held in warm, comforting arms. No matter the time of day, Thor is always ready to snuggle up, showing just how affectionate and loving he is.
One of the most memorable moments in Thor's life came when he welcomed Apollo, another rescue cat, into the family. From the moment they met, these two boys formed an inseparable bond. They have become partners in crime, sharing adventures, naps, and their days together, filling the home with warmth and laughter.
While Thor is primarily a gentle soul, his mischievous side shines through at times. One of his naughtiest moments occurred when he dashed outside, prompting a mini adventure that had the whole family on their toes. Thankfully, his curiosity led him back home, where he felt safe and loved.

‼️Meet Rowan, the charming feline who has transformed Gabi's home into a vibrant playground! Rowan's introduction was anything but ordinary—she made quite an impression by stepping into wet paint🎨and leaving a colorful trail across the counter. Talk about making her mark!

With her affectionate nature, Rowan has quickly become Gabi's steadfast companion. Every day, she greets Gabi at the door with enthusiasm, following her around the house and demanding all the love and attention she can get until she's scooped up for some quality cuddles.💕

Rowan is not just a pretty face; she has a refined palate when it comes to treats. Her absolute favorite? Tuna! For this hungry kitty, mealtime is nothing short of a celebration.

Since joining Gabi’s household in November 2022, Rowan has brought immense joy and laughter into her life. While she certainly has her fair share of naughty moments—thanks to her curious and mischievous spirit typical of a young cat—nothing too outrageous has come from her adventures. Her go-to toys, especially her beloved catnip mice, guarantee that every playtime becomes an epic adventure.

One of Gabi’s most cherished memories is the special day they welcomed Rowan into their home, along with her brother. It was a heartwarming moment that solidified their bond and began a delightful journey filled with love and companionship.

Hailey thrives in the boarding and grooming area, where she takes pride in providing exceptional care to our furry guests. Her favorite aspect of the job is the connections she makes—both with the animals and their owners. She finds great fulfillment in helping clients navigate tough situations involving their beloved pets, often forming close friendships in the process.💓

Outside of work, Hailey is a proud dog mom to a Bull Terrier mix named Bullseye🐾. Fun fact: her favorite animal is a hippopotamus, which reflects her love for unique and spirited creatures! When it comes to travel, Costa Rica holds a special place in her heart as her favorite destination.🏝

‼️Senior Spotlight: Astro the Chihuahua Mix‼️

Meet Astro, a feisty 14-year-old Chihuahua mix who has captured the heart his devoted owner, Mckenzie. Originally a foster fail from Texas, Astro has made a home in North Dakota, though he certainly isn’t a fan of the chilly winters!

Astro has an adventurous spirit, and his favorite activities reflect that love for exploration. Some of his most memorable moments include hiking in the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone National Park, biking through the stunning Rockies, and enjoying warm swims in sunny Arizona. Each adventure is a testament to his zest for life and his ability to adapt, even if he’d much prefer the warmth of Texas over the frostbite-inducing North Dakota winters.

When it comes to treats, Astro has a particular fondness for popcorn—a simple pleasure that always brings a wag to his tail. His favorite toy, a bright blue dog toy, is never far from his side, providing endless hours of enjoyment and comfort.

Despite his charming nature, Astro has had his mischievous moments, none more memorable than the time he snatched a piece of bacon right off Mckenzie’s plate! It’s these cheeky antics that remind everyone how much personality this little guy has.

**Employee Pet Spotlight: Meet Maple!**

This month, we’re excited to highlight our adorable employee pet, Maple! Owned by our veterinary technician Clarissa, Maple is a delightful one-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who brings joy and energy to both her home and the clinic.

Maple’s favorite activities include playing fetch and engaging in tug-of-war with her beloved rope toys. Her playful spirit makes every game an adventure, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than spending time with her favorite humans.

When it comes to treats, Maple can’t resist her Bill Jack peanut butter banana snacks. These tasty morsels are a sure way to win her heart and keep those tail wags coming!

As for toys, Maple is particularly fond of her Kong squeaker tennis ball and any rope toy that she can tug and chew on. Each playtime is a chance for her to showcase her impressive array of tricks, including rolling over, spinning, lying down, giving knucks, and speaking on command.

With her vibrant personality and charm, Maple is not just a pet; she’s a cherished member of the team. We’re grateful to have her brighten our days at the clinic!
