Most of you know by now that I foster failed! If you didn’t know, this is Afton and she’s just about 7 months old. She’s 42 lbs, and I know this because her spay was cancelled and rescheduled for today. Do as I write my poor girl is at the vet overnight to recover❤️
Mary and I have been fostering pups for many, many years now. I can’t describe how wonderful it feels to adopt a foster out to a wonderful family. I know a lot of people will say “I just couldn’t let them go”. I understand that feeling. I will say tgat when you meet that adopter and their children etc. and see how happy it makes them and how happy the dog is. It really does make all those feelings of letting go, wash away.
YOU just saved a dog from, potentially, the pound or a bad situation. Maybe tgr dogs owner passed away. The point is you put that dog into a position to succeed and thrive. You put them in a position and helped place them in their furever home!
PLEASE PLEASE look into fostering with one of our local shelters, or any shelter! They are turning dogs away left and right and we all know what that means for those dogs. They will not have the opportunity to meet a furever family. If it sounds like I’m laying a guilt trip, well, I AM. Even to help babysit or take in a dog while they find a permanent foster. You are SAVING their lives! The buildings are beyond capacity and these pups just want a place to crash.
We foster with and all food, vet and any supplies or support are ALWAYS available and free to fosters. Please, at least take a look at any of the shelters and if you have any questions just shoot them an email. They’d be more than happy to talk with you about how you can help in any way shape or form
Please for it for the dogs 🙏🙏❤️
