Did you know your cat’s whiskers are so sensitive that deep bowls can actually stress them out? If your cat yells for food while the bowl still looks full, this might be the cause.

The whiskers on your cat’s face are sensitive feeling organs that collect and send information to the brain, like little antennas that cats use to navigate in the dark.

Whisker fatigue can occur when the whiskers are repeatedly touched while eating or drinking, causing the whiskers to brush against the sides. Since a cat’s whiskers are packed with sensory receptors, this repetitive touching can lead to discomfort and even stress.

Cats experiencing whisker fatigue may become reluctant to eat, act fussy around their food, or pace nervously near their bowl. Switching to shallow, wide dishes can help alleviate this problem by allowing the whiskers to avoid unnecessary contact, ensuring a more comfortable mealtime for your feline friend.

Tansy & Co. offers something we like to call a “sniffari” walk on a long leash. Your pup takes the lead on this walk! Set entirely at their own pace, it’s a wonderful way to give them extra mental enrichment. The pups can sniff to their heart’s desire if this optional walk is chosen. They will love having the freedom to explore the smells, work their brain, and process that information they find.

Did you know? Sniffing is HARD WORK! 10 mins of sniffing can tire out a dog as much as a 30 min physical walk. These “sniffari” walks are often seen as “decompression walks” and can calm down more anxious dogs, while giving them a sense of control and choice over their own environment.

Hello everyone! Danielle again.

On this rainy, peaceful Sunday evening, I’m reflecting on the last few weeks of my business. I’m overflowing with gratitude as I read my clients’ glowing reviews and am reminded how much I have to be thankful for. Wholeheartedly, I know I’m on the right career path, and it becomes clearer every day.

My heart is so full of nostalgia. It's been wonderful to reminisce through photos while deciding what to share on my page and website. As scary and humbling as starting a new business has been, I know it’s what I’m meant to do. I do pet sitting as my profession because I love it, and besides the happy critters, my favorite part is building trusted, meaningful relationships with their owners. It takes a lot for someone to invite you into their home and entrust you with their cherished pets. I take what I do for work very seriously, so it warms my heart when others see and appreciate the attentive, quality care I provide.

So, friends, family, and everyone in between: thank you for the kind words and support these past few weeks. This dream of mine is becoming a reality, and my passion is turning this business into an incredible career.
